Well Go USA Entertainment has bought North American rights to South Korean director
Na Hong-jin’s thriller “The Wailing” (Goksung), starring Hwang Jung-min, Chun Woo-Hee and Kwak Do-won.

“The Wailing” will be released on May 27 in North America, nine days after its May 18 screening at the
Cannes Film Festival in the Out of Competition section. Fox International Productions, which produced, will release the film in South Korea on May 12.

“The Wailing” marks Hong-jin’s first film in six years, following the “The Yellow Sea.” Woo-Hee plays a mysterious stranger whose arrival into a quiet village coincides with a rash of vicious murders, causing panic and suspicion amongst the villagers. When the daughter of the investigating officer (Do-won) falls under the same savage spell, he calls for a shaman (Jung-min) to assist in finding the culprit.

“We’re delighted to partner with Fox on director Na’s newest vision,” said Doris Pfardrescher, president and CEO of Well Go USA Entertainment. “It’s a visceral, gripping and shocking film that will stun and thrill both fans of his previous works as well as newcomers to the genre.”

The deal was negotiated between Pfardrescher and Dmitry Kaplun at Fox International Productions.

Well Go acquired Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s “The Assassin” last year prior to its Cannes debut.

I watched it yesterday.
Such a crazy film. "The Shining" "The Exocist", "The Conjuring" whatever more mixed.
But, it had something special.
The director, Na Hong-jin made a great movie.
Maybe, you like this film.
I really recommend it!!!!!!!
