I prefer the new design. The title is there but doesn't interfere with the artwork, whereas before it was slapped right in the middle.

On Zavvi´s site, the top of the card on the steelbook only says blu-ray. There´s no actual reference to a DVD on the picture, just on the title of the product.

My guess is that this will be the two blu-rays, just loosing the soundtrack.

Saw the Final Cut at a BFI screening last week. It looks pretty good, the scenes lifted from the Harvard Film Archive print aren't as good as the rest of the film, but are a vast improvement on the previous director's cut release.

screener discs have arrived and I had a quick scan regarding content

disc one - restored final cut + bonus features
disc two - restored UK Theatrical cut (HD 1080p) and Directors Cut (SD 576i - same 1" NTSC master tape as the source)

I saw a press screening of this last month and you can read my thoughts and history of the film at the following link

Am I reading this correctly? Will the steelbook ONLY contain the Final Cut? The Zavvi listing still claims all three cuts on the BD so they are likely to get a lot of returns from angry customers if they are not careful. I'll be cancelling the steelbook in a heartbeat if it doesn't contain the other two cuts.

For some reason Zavvi decided to cancel my order for this one. Don't know why...

Have you had a lot of negative things to say about Zavvi on this forum, seems to happen to a lot of people that do that, funny.

Really looking forward to this well we've waited long enough, could be the longest wait ever for a release I could be wrong.

Seems like this doesn't actually have the last bits of missing footage that it was originally advertised as including. I'm happy to have the director's cut on Blu though and I love that front artwork.

post 334 should answer both your questions

there will be a review up shortly on the front page

Does it? You have the screener discs but will they both appear in both releases? It would appear from the updated OP that the steelbook will be woefully short of content, so much so that I'm seeking clarification.

Your thoughts on the final cut definitely make it seem more appealing than the site I linked to. As you made no mention of it, I'm guessing the missing verse in one of the songs isn't as jarring as the other guy makes it sound

from the info that we have, the Zavvi steelbook will contain one BD and one DVD with the following

Blu-Ray Special Features:
The Final Cut
The Director's Cut with Commentary
The UK Theatrical Cut

DVD Special Features:
The Final Cut
Interview with Robin Hardy
Featurettes: Inspired by The Wicker Man (Famous Fans)
The Music of The Wicker Man
The Restoration of The Wicker Man

now, the BD set I have (which is a screener of the 3 disc edition but minus the CD soundtrack) has the following

disc one - restored final cut + bonus features
disc two - restored UK Theatrical cut (HD 1080p) and Directors Cut (SD 576i - same 1" NTSC master tape as the source)

The steelbook version SHOULD contain the final cut + bonus features plus a DVD copy of the final cut judging by the actual disc contents

there are no seamless branching on the disc one for all three versions at all. it's the first thing I checked. I can't see StudioCanal pressing two different discs in all honesty

I have raised this with Wreck and co already and we're trying to establish exactly what this steelbook contains but at the moment, my money is on the above
