I love that they've chosen a smaller logo. Well done, Zavvi! I agree that the image itself could be larger, but it's still a great looking steelbook. I also love that they opted for a quote on the back instead of a photo. If there were another piece of artwork to match the front artwork that would be better, but I think this is pretty good.

The 'new' front does seem to be a step in the wrong direction but I like the back. It's unfussy and allows the front to shine. It would have been difficult to find something to blend nicely with that great art so I'm pleased that they've gone this route.

Well, the original mockup shows a big black hole in the artwork with the title stuck on it. In the new version you actually see more of the artwork. It could do with some resizing, I agree, but I am happy that they moved the title.

I agree about the back. I don't have a lot of black steelbooks, this is going to look great with the gold/brown letters and linework.

Like you say, I think it looks better with the title over the artwork and not in a huge space cut out of the artwork. If it is made to fit the entire front cover, then I think it will look great.

Nah, the title on the original front looks about perfect to me. The way it's done makes it look like it's supposed to be there (it sits 'in' the art). The newer one it looks too small and off to the side (bottom corner..... really...??), plus it's not done in a way that makes it look a part of the art, just merely placed on top (looks very amateurish to me).

Zavvi have finally uploaded some back artwork too. The question is, wich one is the real front cover?

I think they have decided to give it a black embossed boarder!

If you compare it next to the Iron Man 3 pic from Zavvi's site, the red outline on the back cover lines up.;)

You may be right, there. I think that would be a shame as the great artwork doesn't need the gimmick of an embossed border. It'll be a shame if it is shrunken and compromised but still a great steel.

Never considered embossing for this one. But that adjustment to the front cover certainly suggests that approach. Maybe the Wicker Man will be embossed. I don't think this release needs that though, artwork is enough, high gloss finish is all this needs.

Why not have the entire steelbook a red colour with the front cover artwork and leave the back totally plain red. Since red is the theme of the film. Or should i say fire is the theme.

The front looked better before without the potential embossed border, Getting a little sick of the same generic embossing these steels are getting. Emboss the title maybe but the border looks **** in my opinion.

wow, that sounds exciting, and reduces my guilty conscience a bit, because i already ordered "the wicker man" 2-dvd set a few months ago.

if we really get a new, never released before, "final" cut, i'm glad i already made my order.

the film is very popular, the cover looks nice, it's limited to 4000... looking forward to this!

Wow, so not just a standard steelbook catalogue release!
Good find. I wonder how the cut differs from the versions currently available?

No idea, lol. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt they've found all the lost footage because they've only been searching for 2-3 months and if it was this easy, why was it never found before?

the director talks about a version that contains material originally intended by him, "never been in uk theaters, never before released on blu-ray".
maybe just a new hi-def transfer of a better looking source of the director's cut?

there are 2 different versions available on DVD, the theatrical cut, and the DC.

we will see in the near future if the "final cut" differs in comparison to the director's cut.

Really don't like that, too much black. Surely they could just expand the image on all 4 sides? This better be glossy or it'll look horrible (and will be chipped/scratched to death too).

What have they done to it? There was nothing wrong with the previous version and now there's a needless black area around the perimeter.
