What have they done to it? There was nothing wrong with the previous version and now there's a needless black area around the perimeter.

It's pretty much the same apart from the movement of title (the old design had a black border too)

I've only seen the remake and although flawed it was an interesting concept, think I'll take the plunge on this one.

The release on amazon is also not listed as 3 blu rays but 3 discs- 1x main feature in 3 versions, 1x extras (most likely dvd) and soundtrack cd.
I guess the steelbook will have the blu ray and dvd, and only soundtrack will be missing- whixh i dont care about much.

confirmed for the 40th Anniv edition, but not necessarily Zavvi's steelbook

Looking at the Zavvi listing, it is described as a 'double play' with 2 discs, which suggests to me that it will contain the film on both BD and DVD and miss out the extras disc and soundtrack.

I can live without the soundtrack but would much rather have the extras disc than a redundant DVD copy of the film. Hopefully it is just that Zavvi need to update the listing - the info for the regular release is very fresh, after all!
