I really didn't think this would be getting a UK release, which was why I went ahead and imported the Italian release a while back.

It was matte but not streaky, I assume this gets the same treatment? The film was really disappointing though, the potential was there but wasted.

First half of the film had so much potential and kept my interest. When it removed itself from that
core area
it went downhill fast.
Shame. I really did enjoy the first half.

It was spot gloss, that's why the black wasn't streaky.

So it's just a gloss layer underneath the matte that helps prevent streaks?
Yep, just that. It gives it a solid base to build on. 2 layers of paint, vs one. Same with walls if you think about it, putting an undercoat on first. Lots of older matte steels have a much thicker matte application, so I assume they're just using cheaper paint or thinner layers in more recent years.

Bit annoyed as caved on the blu-ray ameray just before Xmas.
Wish I held off now.

Still tempted. Blood love Josh Hartetts films (even his dodgy ones are watchable for me).
May cave and grab this nearer release
