Warner Home Video has announced “Unforgiven: 20th Anniversary” in a Blu-ray Digibook format on February 21st. The film will come in the tradicitional book format. FYI, apparently this is not a new master, and the old one was lackluster. I've not seen it, but saw a commentary about this...

Awesome movie ... I didnt think the transfer was that bad when I watched my amaray . *shrug* lot of dark scenes tho, probably grainy ... hell I cant remember lol. been over a year...

Yeah, special packaging only goes so far (I like Digis and own a few myself), but this regurtitation without any actual upgrades to the actual film is getting sickening.

Up until now, I believe that Fox/MGM have been the main culprits for this, but now it would seem that Warner are trying the same trick - stick a ropey old pressing into a shiny new digibook and hope no-one will notice. That's not the way to treat potential buyers of "Special Editions".
