Love these steelbooks, but the price will no doubt be a deal breaker... or at least that's why I never picked them up separately. I recently bought the UK digipak instead, which is equally as great, and currently only around £12.
Logical move to have the matching collection of 7 all together in a sturdy (?) slipbox (hopefully not flimsy like the BREAKING BAD or STAR TREK 1 - X boxes) . . . matching the 10 quid price at which they've recently been individually priced . . . and great news for those like myself who haven't bought these lovely steelbooks yet . . .
. . . but still a bummer that Alex Ross has for some reason not done a steelbook for what I consider to be the best version of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1943 with Claude Rains as the phantom) as included in all previous Classic Monsters Collections.
Now, if PotO had been included here . . . as an 8 steelbook collection matching the content of The Essentials Collection . . . I'd have been all over it at the 70 quid asking price.
Case art reprising the cheap as chips boxset art which is nevertheless a great product considering the goodies included therein . . . albeit not nearly as stylish-looking as The Classic Monsters Coffin Collection (even though that's just the Essentials Collection with a cool coffin surround. . . ).
Would have been great to have the goodies in the steelbook set too . . . but I guess not possible as not directly related to the Alex Ross steelbooks in particular even though related to the box content in general.
Have been hoping for what seems like ages for something similar for the HARRY POTTER steelbook collection . . . something special like the German set with proper book:-
Closer look at the non-steelbook UNIVERSAL CLASSIC MONSTERS sets:-

To add insult to injury the box and the book are apparently English language . . . so "Why are we waiting"?!

RE: ALEX ROSS - Not forgetting he cut his horror teeth on the simulated film cell artwork of the Silent Screamers toys . . . models of pre-Universal horror icons (and which character from film history is more iconic than Max Schreck aka Nosferatu):-
I'm hoping all the classic Universal monster will get that treatment. Would love to see it happen with Hammer. Have not been happy with Zavvi exclusive steels.

Box set is flimsy cardboard can easily arrive damaged but steelbooks themselves not damaged
Jcard on box same info on back after you remove the Jcard
Steelbooks inside come unsealed as in not shrink wrapped with jcards attached
Note if you decide to purchase this the clear sticker tabs that attach the jcard to the steelbooks when you try to remove the sticker can damage the jcards as in remove the print
Wrong type glue is on the jcard stickers or because they been there so long they don't come off cleanly
Best if you just fold the sticker on the jcard itself to avoid removing print of the jcard
Photos below of steelbooks I added myself resealable wrapping sleeves
