Value Guide for Buyers & Traders

How is it the valuations are always on the higher end? Just wondering as consistently members are reporting purchasing them for much less.

Valuations can be subjective. It all depends on your experience and what you seen them go for, what you sold them for. Everyone will give different answers. And you will have to use your own judgement and decide which advice is best, and what to base to your valuation on.

Here is an example:

T4 Virgin sold for $1000. IMO it is not worth $1k. But someone might say it is worth $1k because it was 'sold' for 1k. Use your judgement.

Thanks. I always wonder if the pple handing out valuations have a personal interest in it. I was quoted Casino Royale for no lower then $50 and saw a couple sell for $23 and $26. Would be great if you could get an ACTUAL valuation instead of subjective i.e. just throwing numbers out there. Dont get me wrong...this thread is useful but is at times muddied by all the excessively high valuations

Almost all Steelbook valuations in here are going to be subjective. You're asking someone what THEY think something is worth.

I thought the thread was about known value not subjective value.

Its not an exact Science bud

what is worth $50 to you , may well be worth $200 to some one else ;)

Do as Mr Sunny said , and use your own judgement ?

Prices are what you as a prospective Customer are willing to pay ? , subject to availability , you may have to pay more ? or Less ;)

Valuations 1 day , can change in a Blink of an eye , but generally they are what they are , but as more Collectors come into the Hobby , obviously the more Desirable steel books , will inevitably increase :scat:

But! just to get 1 thing clear ;) If you ask "wat is this worth ? in a Public Forum.. Obviously some of the Valuations are gonna be subjective , as many Collectors - Re-Sellers have a vested interest in maintaining the Value of their own Collection :naughty:

but , when you are referring to a $30-$50 steel book like Casino Royale (DE) , I personally wouldn't be comparing that to the likes of Terminator Salvation (fr) Virgin ?? would you ????

Apples & Oranges mate EEK!

Supply & demand mate

Not directed at any title in general. A general observation is that many members report prices lower than the valuations. Just saying this subjective thing everyone keeps talking about helps no one. I may not be well versed in the rare steels but sounds like investors pushing for a certain price and not really helping any members here. Just my 2 cents worth. Haven't really benefited here on this thread with any meaningful valuation.

Do I have to spell it out for you ??

some members will always have a vested interest in certain steel book valuations regardless of what the previous 10 of the same steel book Sold for !!

they are living on a Wing & a Prayer , hoping that some one will pay their ridiculous over Valued asking prices !!so there is the subjective valuations !!!!

I already told you why they do this as there is many Factors to be considered :

Time frame ??

Supply & Demand ??

emotional attachment !

Separation Anxiety !

Paid too much ~ so trying to recoup losses !

GREEDY !!

STUPID !!

allso , they can ask what ever they want ?? its their property !!

I dont know why they do it ? but they do !!

If you want to ask a Moderator or even a Staff member for a valuation , go ahead , as they are really helpfull & will make sure that they do thier best for the members interests , at all times ;)

Known value is only for steel available in store. If you ask me the value of Harry Potter steelbook, I'll answer you it's real retail value since I/others can get it in store if they live in Canada.

Most of demand in this thread are for OOS steels so that means their values are of course subjective as TC mentionned based on many aspects.

I offered you a mint/sealed Casino Royale for 25 Euros and you didn't even answer my PM...why are you asking about prices on here if you are doing a completed auctions search on ebay simultaneously anyway? Maybe you don't really care about any of the steelbooks, but are just interested in argueing on a public forum?

For some reason I have always thought that Disney steelbooks would be valuable ones. Or are they that common?

They are valuable though they can usually be found easy enough. I think it would be around £60 for a sealed one so they are not the cheapest Steelbooks!

That makes me feel better about picking up Pinocchio mint/sealed for £30 posted yesterday :D

Anyway, back on topic - Anyone know the value of Death Race MM embossed (mint/open) please? Cheers :)
