Ya I expected that one not to. But Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and some of the others I didn't. I was expecting to see some shine to them and didn't. From what I can tell with some in hand pics, they're supposed to have a bit of shine. That was one reason I didn't get them. I was always interested in them but seeing them in person was kind of a downer. Even my wife said don't get them, get the Japan ones you wanted. Considering the price difference and she felt that way, I wasn't going to argue with her.

Why can't BBs have a self-checkout lane? Watching the employees man-handle the steelbooks makes me . I say please be careful with it, it's a collectable and they say OK. Then proceed to slam it on all sides to kill the security tag. Which there isn't one on these.

Sorry, had to vent. Watching them handle them drives me up the wall!

At least at Walmart I could go to the self-checkout with the RE steels.

I just called 1888BESTBUY, they said 1 order is ready for pick-up the other order can not be filled. WTF, I asked why haven't I gotten an email, they don't know. I guess I will wait and see tomm.

I found a dent on my LotR: FotR so I went back and got a dent free version, but while I was there I decided to return my copy of Book of Eli but ended up adding both hangovers, heres to hoping there is a 9.99 sale

although now looking more closely at some of the other steels a few may need to be exchanged, sigh

Yeah, I have made a few trips back to different BBs to exchange. There seems to be allot of imperfections on these. Gran Torino seems to be the hardest to find mint because it's all black. The rest, if you look close enough you will probably find something. No matter how hard I looked at the store, I still ended up finding some scratches or knicks on some. I think I have all the mint ones I want now though.

I noticed one paint chip missing in the same spot on several of the Two Towers at different stores. It was right in the middle of the top of the tower. At first I thought it was suppose to be there, but then found some without it.

Yeah my LotRs have lots of chips, and some how I missed a dent in my Dark Knight, probably cause it was along the side but not at the corner. Either way tomorrow I go to the BB by my office where the tax rate is 3% versus 8.8% at home some thats a good $10 savings. I just bought these as backups to make sure that I got the ones I wanted and to find good condition ones. Seems I failed on the later.

My store said they had them, but can't release them till tomm. I asked them to hold them, and they said I had to call back tomm. The only way to order now is through the post, and they suck at that. When I check store availability it says In Store pickup only, but you cant buy and choose instore pickup. Only option is mail. THEY SUCK

Heading to my local BB in a few hours to see if they finally have these displays on the floor. Went a couple times last week and over the weekend and nothing. So here's hoping that 5/29 is the magical day.
Not too sure which one's I am going to get as all 3 LOTR's, Shawshank, Goodfellas, Sucker Punch, 300, Batman Begins, V for Vendetta all appeal to me.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions..... my debit card may not be too happy with me in a few hours.

Somewhere in this thread we have confirmation that there is no inside art in any of the steelbooks of this wave. Time to get creative and make that first customized steelbook!

Possibly but we don't have any kind of confirmation of it yet. Perhaps later in the week but Best Buy price protection policy should cover the price drop.

I just got back from BB. I am really dissapointed with this wave. Every steel has imperfections that you could not see until you opened them. And every LOTR the Return of the King was dented on the bottom, like the employee slammed them down on the shelves. Major fail

It could be worse your store could be like mine and never get them, not know what is going on and then just fill the display with regular amray versions of the movies. I'd take a dented copy at this point.

Dizzy, do you need help in obtaining these? I hear your horror stories and just wonder if you need help or if you're just venting and/or wishing you could go "in store" and pick them up like the rest of us. Which I totally understand as its a fun experience.

If you need help, I'm sure plenty of members here could help you. I'd offer my services but I only have 1 best buy near me and unless they restock then there wasnt much left and I wont be headed back to that town probably for at least another week.

Well another day of futility with Best Buy, seriously can some other store like Target or Wal-Mart get these instead. Called Bestbuy to see if I could get a price adjustment on the 2 movies I ordered last week online and they won't price adjust it until the items arrive which the tracking is telling me not until next Monday. Then went to Best Buy on the supposed release date for these to again get to stare at the display filled with amrays rather than the steelbooks.

I HATE BEST BUY

I swear I must be a sadomasochist it's Ghost Rider all over again where I checked the store every day for a week and none ever turned up

I'd like to see if I can get these in store it would be nice for just once to get a movie and not have pay shipping on it, with them being $15 that is almost like getting one less movie if you keep paying shipping prices. The best buy in my town is less than a mile from my work it would be just so nice to go in and pick up a steelbook in store like everyone else.

I guess its another week of checking best buy daily and being at best buy right at 10am next week with my fingers crossed hoping and praying I can get a Safe House.
