ML-Best Buy has a third party company come in to stock-they did this for the Disney Steels as well-they come, bring the displays, etc and stock. I've seen the third party vendor set up a few times, myself. I am not sure if the entire store is stocked that way, but many large retailers outsource this function, so they may use this service for the entire stock as well.

awhile ago I heard a rumor that BB outsourced the movie area, and that they don't even stock them

The guy who brought me the box to look through said it was the Anderson Group that stocked the movies & music. He didn't sound very impressed with how when they did things.

How many more times can your put out the same bloody movies. This wave is garbage (other then LOTR and GT) no artwork inside lol joke. Im happy Iv got all 1st prints and not these. So how are they exclusive if the artwork and titles have all been released months before? as far as Im concerned the US BB is lol all the way to the bank on this garbage. I HATE REPRINTS!!

I think we all have to remember, that while these steelbooks are reprints to us (people in the know), the majority of customers that would walk into a Best Buy in the USA today, have never seen one of these cases from Warner before.

Steelbook collecting is still a niche market, and while it is growing, the majority of high definition movie peeps in the USA have only ever seen a few steelbook cases - and never ever seen them this cheap.

Even the German reprints are sold at premiums for people in the USA.

You won't hear me complain, this wave is just a gateway for regular folks having the ability to walk in and grab premium packing off the shelf @ retail. ;)

Another day and still no steelbooks in my Best Buy, but it looks like the 2 I ordered should be in the mail tomorrow so I will get to see how they ship and see if its worth biting the bullet on the shipping.

Keep those receipts peoples. Looks like it's price adjustment time

Surprise, surprise :)

Thanks for sharing the pic. For those who ordered these steelies online for delivery, you can hold off until you see them in your local stores on Sunday to return the online purchases and re-buy them in-store at the 9.99 price :)

And I am glad the ad mentions the $5 movie cash which makes the Batman steelbooks an even crazier deal at under $5EEK!

This is awesome for me, but going to be a nightmare for some CS rep. I have so many receipts from different stores, with stapled returns, exchanges, price adjustments etc.. The first receipt I have looks like a book. :emb: The lady today was able to pull up an old receipt to make a return.

I am going to call BB Rewards on Sunday and see if they can do it over the phone.

If you can do it that way even better as it would save you the gas to drive all the way to BB. This price drop is definitely a nice surprise ;)

Well this is going to hurt the value of all Steelbooks to me the hobby was fun when they were hard to get, but now how are the poor people going to feel that paid a lot of money for these? Oh well Glad I just got in it now!!!! Heck I just bought a Snap case Factory sealed for my collection an american wherewolf in london:) Guess that means Ill be returning my Ghost Riders Oh wellllllll

MJ, not really. There are differences between these and those already released of these titles, and the price drop will only help the intro of Steelbooks to people who have never even seen them in US stores, or otherwise. Other retailers in other countries routinely have Steels on sale, under 10 EUR, etc, during special sales. The 'Rare' ones or 'harder to get ones' rarely ever plummet because of sales. Enjoy your collection! :scat:

Dig hopefully so I seen it happen with everything. Ok then explain how I only paid $25.00 for my Factory Sealed An AMerican werewolf in london snap case when they should be going for 75 and the guy wanted 35 for it unless I got ripped off but it doesnt matter because when are u going to see that in a store now

MJ-there are always exceptions with items-people find much more 'rare' Steelbooks on Ebay for less than what they 'usually' sell for, and they often post those finds here. Prices fluctuate-but the super rare Steelbooks (which most if not all of these re-releases never were anyway) will always be rare and sought after, unless they are reprinted exactly as they were originally released. This wave was a good way for Warner to 'intro' the Steelbook for the US market which is, by and large, new to the Steelbook. Depending on market, price has everything to do with a successful launch and adaptation. The collectors that already own (and care about) the original releases of these will continue to take pride in the fact that they own the 1st one. But for those that have no idea about Steelbooks this affords an opportunity to get their hands on hard, cold Steel...so to speak :naughty:...and hopefully they'll join in the fun of collecting the more rare Steels, join the community, share their wishlists, etc. Steelbooks were always going to gain in popularity with sites like ours, so more releases (and hopefully more unique ones), around the world are inevitable. As the # 1 Steelbook site, HDN gives special emphasis to providing threads and opportunities for feedback to decision makers, so lots of info is shared as needed.
