The only one I'm excited about is Heat since I was considering buying the Premium digibook. The others are meh. Maybe they're saving other, more 'underrated' movies for their 90th anniversary next year...

Argh. How many more? This is really ridiculous now. It wouldn't be so bad if half of all titles announced weren't re-releases. As others have mentioned where are Warner's new waves? We want to see new titles not the same ones over and over. Studios don't seem to realise that it's the same people buying these titles again and again.

problem is the few people keep buying them again and again like you say... so if your the studio, why not?

The consumer does have some power in there hands at end of the day. It depends on how we collectively choose to use that power. Most people just keep on double-triple-quadruple dipping on the titles (even with same art!?%^) hence more of the same sh1t. Look at G1 steel books... people stopped buying them and we don't see much of them anymore now do we.

Force the studio's to put these steel books in the discount bin for $8 and they will notice. But, that won't happen since people won't stop buying which I guess just further proves the studio's point that there is infact a demand to supply and they'll keep doing it.

perhaps warners are just trying to reward fans who dont buy ANY imported steelbooks.
its the first time for a UK release for those in steelbook form.
for EG, if you dont want ANY foriegn text on your steels (or data sheets. including french) and you want some inside artwork, then there is no release worldwide to fill that criteria.
or if you dont like the risk of getting damaged steels from another country, or you dont have the disposable income for over inflated imports, then these would be a godsend.
warners have ignored the UK for far too long.

so im hoping for the same quality of the recent play.com waves, then i may well be in.
certainly interested in matrix and sherlock. possibly all the others artwork depending.
its hammering my wallet, but id rather have too much choice than too little.

yes i would love to see fresh titles, but only if they are real good films. theres nothing worse than seeing a steelbook wave announced, and seeing no films in there that you want to own.

the only one that would be classed as re-release is 10,000 bc

aaah of course, they did a poor job first time around though didnt they.
one of the worst uk steels ive seen (and the film was average at best)
probably wouldnt have bothered with doing that one again considering all the titles they could have rehashed (gran torino? hangover 1&2? full metal jacket?)

again, 10,000BC is the only re-release.

The majority of Steelbook collectors buy titles from all around the world. So you're silly rhetoric of only including titles previous released in the UK is rather annoying. These are re-releases because they are the same titles as previously released elsewhere. You're the only person that doesn't consider them as such.

I don't like this at all, this kind of takes the point out of exclusive releases.

At least they didn't release the Batman steelbooks

None on there that I don't already have, and the top two I don't want. As long as Blade Runner and Matrix isn't the white Japanese art, I don't care.

They are official UK steelbooks, therefore Not rereleases.

So your lame attempt at arguing with every hidef member fails miserably again.

Depending on the price & artwork I'd like to get Heat, I Am Legend and The Matrix

First post here. Just want to say that I hope to be a productive member of this community, and that I'm not here to spam my way into the trading forums.

So hey everyone!

I think this is slightly unfair. Obviously I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure there a great many collectors who don't want to order from overseas, or can't afford it with any great regularity.

I for one am pleased to see these offered within the UK. Would it have been better for this wave to have offered some new titles in this format mixed in with the older ones? Of course. But there are people who will be grateful to get these titles at a reasonable price without having to pay import fees and customs.

300 I got from the bestbuy collection, I traded as part of a bundle so it's not a big loss :)
Glad I held off Matrix, Heat, Inception and Blade Runner these are all awesome! Wow these steelbooks blew up in the second half of 2012! Can only hope for new artwork, blade runner will be interesting, if these are white backgrounds some people won't be best pleased, and who could blame them..

People complaining about the cost of picking some of these titles up from Canada, they have been dirt cheap for a while and even including customs fees there won't be a lot of difference in cost with these ones.
