I love Del Toro's attention to detail and all his movies have a creepy, eerie feel to me...I would love to see him do a modern day twisted horror film, something deserving of multiple movies.
Also, just because I loved @Strangerbyday's idea...I agree...he'd be able to make a darker Neverending Story film and I loved and grew up on those...It's time and deserving of a cool remake!
