Some friends and I are planning a trip to Freiburg, Rust, Luzern, and maybe Colmar in early December.
Would anybody be able to advise on the type of winter coat required for the weather in those regions? We've been getting conflicting advice, especially on down jackets, with some saying it'll be too warm for it while others swear by it.
In Singapore, the winter jackets sold locally are huge and extremely bulky (and turn you into the Michelin Man). Anybody able to shed some light if this is indeed the fashion there? I've been thinking of a gore-tex outer layer with fleece as the inner layers, but not sure if this will be sufficient.
