Yep - it's slightly wider than a normal (ie not XL) fullslip release from the likes of FA or Manta Labs etc.

Am I missing something here? Blade Runner was a decent choice for a cult classic. But Wonder Woman? It’s more mainstream than breakfast cereal. I like the Steelbook design, but these flimsy plastic cases are cheap and nasty.

Bang on, in the beauty shots this and Blade Runner look really premium, in person though Blade Runner at least is far from that.
First thing they should do like you said is ditch the steelbook protector style covers and just do PET slips instead, I'm sure they could do 'jumbo' sized versions of them and still include those vital coasters and pins

Price of BR was 26,90, the flimsy plastic cases are justified.
I too miss ML but full slips and stuff cost more.

Shame that the only thing good about this is the art and title on the plastic PET box that would cost about a £1 to make

When you have an array of brightly coloured WW steel artwork already then this is certainly a welcome edition.
The overall presentation of it, steel and slip combo makes it look really good. The steel alone would look a bit plain, but regardless it's something different and will have a nice debossing and spot gloss finish.

Looks v. smart without the slip . . . nice to see the bronze/gold accents on the shield instead of the more basic and less accurate mock-up colour scheme . . . also nice to see that the spine logos blend in with the shield design including and especially the darker lozenges top and bottom:-
I'm OK with different inside art to the US edition although on both would've preferred the text on the right under the lower disc:-
