Now we have this awful US wave coming over here....here's the UK artwork just put on the zavvi listing...

Yeah, this wave is horrid. I am not even sure I want to get the few movies from this wave that I do not own on BD yet like Aeon Flux, Deathwish, P&G and WWZ.

Saw the Zavvi announcement & thought "awesome, I don't own WWZ yet, I'll pick that up."

Saw the artwork & thought "NOPE."

If your going to re-release a steelbook at lease make the artwork better than the original, I'm sure they think we will buy anything if its a steelbook

why buy the film anyway it's passable at best whos a big enough fan of this film to buy it on steelbook, let alone one that's an inferior design?

When the anti Zavvi comments were doing the rounds a few years back a Zavvi exclusive steelbook entitled WORLD WAR Z would have been most appropriate . . .

Anyway, it's true that the film wasn't a raging financial success domestically with its $190M budget barely covered . . . but worldwide it did still made over $540M in the cinemas . . .

Certainly not the worst zombie flic out there . . . and there was certainly a demand for the Blu-ray when it came out . . . with supermarket and retailer exclusive editions . . . and the very smart 5,000 numbered copies of the original Entertainment Store steelbook sold . . . plus different steelbooks created in other territories including one from a premium retailer.

Not embarrassed to say that I enjoyed the film and the original (U.K.) steelbook is one of the better ones out there . . . looking even better after glossing by @Igans

As for this cheap 'n' cheerful steelbook - trying to come up with reasons to buy . . .

a) If you didn't buy the lovely original this will be a *cheap way to own the film in a steelbook (*when it's 8 quid) . . . If, however, we get the exact same 2 discs as in the U.S. this steelbook will be a total bargain @16 quid.
If we get the same 2 discs - 3D + regular BD - as in the previous U.K. steelbook then the price also not bad.

b) Paramount steelbook . . . finish will be good IF same Gloss finish as in The States
(In The States TOMB RAIDER and CRADLE OF LIFE already released . . . 4K + regular BD . . . ignore "DVD" on spine as DVD replaced by 4K disc in that territory)

c) One of a matching set of 16 in total so one for completists

d) Fresh artwork with little relationship to the original posters . . .although puzzled by the gals getting much more colourful steelbooks than the guys

e) Framing border in the mock-up . . . leading to embossed large titles for our editions (?)

Quick look at the complete collection of 16 releasing in the U.S. (and elsewhere?) . . . Notes: quotes as back art on all steelbooks + possibly the same sparks internal artwork on all steelbooks too.

OK, definitely not as sexy as the 2013 E.S. exclusive ... in fact the new one probably near the bottom ... or even at the bottom ... regarding its steelbookworthiness.

I really hate all of these new waves. Even though they offered 4K in some I ignored them all. Just a cheap rushed out release to make a quick cash cow.
