There's been many different consoles released over the years, some of which have brought a lot more enjoyment than others. So I'm wondering what you'd all consider your favourite console EVER!

Personally, it boils down to which console I had the most fun playing on with friends. I could easily pick something from the current gen, because being able to play with people online brings a lot more enjoyment and possibilities to gaming nowadays. However, there's nothing better than actually getting a bunch of pals sat around the same TV in the same room and experiencing everything together IMO.

In which case, the PS1 is probably my favourite console. I have so many memories of playing it at different friends' houses and playing on a wide range of games with them... even ones that I originally had no interest in (football, wrestling, racing etc.), purely because it was just so much fun playing them with my mates. And, of course, because it also introduced me to the world of GTA!

So, what's your favourite gaming console and why? :)

I'd say the PS4.

Why?

Because all my friends have one, since Destiny came out we are having a bunch of fun with the raids, nightfalls etc.

Honestly, there aren't many great games for the ps4, their catalogue is almost non existent. But overall, the fact that we have Spotify, Blu-ray player, a far better controller and better network abilities, together with sharing connectivity.

Taking that all in account, my choice is the ps4.

Otherwise, if it would have been gamewise..... Hands down the Nintendo 64 with the magnificent Mario 64, Waverace, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Jet Force Gemini and many more.

Gonna go with the Ps1

The ps1 was where gaming all came together for me.My step dad had just moved in, and he introduced me and my brother to the PlayStation. Before he moved in my house was a Nintendo house.my mom liked Nintendo so we grew up on it.

When i saw my step dad playing MGS 1 and Resident Evil 2 we were hooked. We had the multi tap and played Monopoly and WWF Attitude and WWF Smackdown.if we had never got that ps1, no telling where i would be now.The Ps1 also had the best games. All the Smackdown games and Re games. We had almost everything

My 5 most favorite consoles: Atari 2600, NES, PS1, PS2, PS4

My most favorite is NES. It was the one that garnered the most attention and has so many good memories playing games with friends on rainy days and such. It still hold the game that i bet the most people still have the code memorized for, that infinite lives code for Contra.

Same here man... the PS1 is where my love for gaming truly started. I forgot to mention the sad ending to my story though... my mum binned my PS1 and all of my games for it, because I "didn't play it any more". :dead:

Hard choice.....very hard choice. I have a lot of fond memories with various consoles, from my original Gameboy (which I still have) that I took everywhere with me as a kid...dropped it down the stairs a lot but the thing is built like a tank and could probably survive a nuke!

The SNES was my first games console (non portable console), when I say my first I mean the first console I owned. I had a lot of fun playing Zelda a Link to the past (easily my favourite Zelda game), Mario World, F-Zero, Starfox / Starwing.

Also I have fond memories of the Megadrive, which was my older brother's console. We used to spend hours playing on the various Sonic games, Decap Attack and a few of the older master system games (thanks to the power base convertor).

To me what makes a console my "favourite" isn't just about the games, the graphics or anything like that, it's the fun times....the nostalgia and the memories.

So while I cant exactly pin down 1 and only 1 console as my favourite I'd say the Gameboy, SNES and Megadrive are probably my 3 favourite consoles ever.

I suppose it was my own fault really, as I made the mistake of letting my younger sister have it in her room, because I got a PS2 and didn't have room for it in mine any more. They chucked away an original iPod that I gave her too... the ones that go for crazy money nowadays. This is part of why I'm now a hoarder... never pass down your stuff to dumb family members!

So hard to pick one! I'd stay between SNES and PSX.

With SNES I've got to play some of the most fun games ever and that will be my favorite for years to come. With PSX I guess we all entered a new world of home entertainment. I still remember how much effort me and my brother put to afford a used PSX to play what he called 'virtual reality' games. It was a breakthrough indeed.
