Just received my Japanese order for PACIFIC RIM today and I'm in love.

The 2D edition, while really sharp-looking, doesn't have a full slipcover. It's more of a weird half-slipcover:
The 3D edition, on the other hand, is absolutely beautiful! It's in a nice, thick, sturdy slipbox and comes with a 36-page booklet + the cards that were included in the SteelBook:
So nice. I am definitely thinking of selling off my American 3D lenticular one and just picking up the Japanese release now. I was watching part of the 2D Blu-ray last night and it looks awesome on my TV at home. I think I am enjoying the experience more than the IMAX viewing I had of this film originally. Somehow the action is more easily followed at home where the screen is smaller.
EDIT: Caved in, just ordered the 3D Japanese version too.

The US are definitely winning on slips recently, all have that bit extra
Gutted i bought the UK Were the Millers here the other day as the lenticular is only $13 on Amazon.com now! £13 delivered!!

I bought my copy at Best Buy
so the Lenticular slipcover might be the only one released throughout all retail stores in the U.S.
In fairness I think the US slipcovers have always been vastly superior to the UK selection.
As Bloodsnake said the Lenticular is available through all retail stores.

And the sad thing about the superior US slips is that most folks here don't give a rat's arse about them - I have seen hundreds of beautiful Disney slips in trash cans outside Walmart and Target stores for years now and yet they keep rolling them out in large volume instead of spending some of that money on other collectible packaging. I digressed - so yes the US has been leading the way with some very nice slipcovers.

When i was collecting steelbooks i had a mint copy of the Alien Anthology steelbook that i ended up selling. I regretted this so recently re bought one only for it to not be upto my ocd standards so it was sold on 
I wanted an alternative that wasnt the 4 cheap amarays in a box so got this for £13 off Amazon and i love it
