Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

1/3 orders who despatched at the same day arrived after almost 2 weeks..where is the rest :(
The new "protection" line is a joke..zavvi getting worse....
 
They now really need to step up their customer service, it is shocking, it's all good releasing brilliant exclusives, but if we keep getting damaged steels, then they are going to lose their customers and without us they are nothing. It's great they listen to us with regards to what you want releasing, but they also need to listen to us when it relates to poor customer service, damaged items and shocking packaging, it really isn't rocket science. They need to take a leaf out of ES, when they had the Jack Reacher problem, they couldn't do enough for you.

I never understand the need to send them pictures in order for you to return it. Under Distance selling regulations you have 30 days to return it regardless of whether it's damaged or not if it's still sealed. My Jungle book has paint chips and a scratch on the cover. It's still sealed yet they want pics.

Basically, if the goods are rejected within 7 days of receipt (rather than 30) and are still sealed, Zavvi have no legal right to demand photos. It's not even in their own T&C's that proof of damage must be supplied.

As I see it, it's basically a dissuasion strategy, intended to make the process of returning goods as obstructive and difficult as possible. A complaint to the OFT might make them think twice about such tactics...

I'm in the same boat. My JB also shipped on 8/7 and Evil Dead, Rambo, etc. shipped on 8/8. I have since received the ones from 8/8 (on 3 separate days - still trying to figure that out) and haven't received Jungle Book yet. :confused:
 
I contacted Zavvi about the problem with there code and got the usually excuse that there unaware of any problems hmmmm.
 
I think that would be a short thread.

ordering from them is a nitemare. I have to resubmit my CC every time they get ready to ship. It is a pain the butt. I am thinking about paying the extra for paypal just to avoid having to resubmit the charge. It usually takes a week longer for my steel to finally ship:angry:

This is been going on for ages I've been saying it for long enough but i'm sorry to say nothing changes they will just ruin it and people will get so sick of it they'll stop buying.

The staff at the zavvi warehouse are more knife happy than others my damage from zavvi vs others is at least 2-1 maybe even 3-1 some over the wrap but most from zavvi are cut through the wrap.

I have no doubt it's happening were the disc and j-cards are packed but in a lot of cases it's being done a second time at the warehouse of the retailer effectively doubling the % of damages.

As stated already by many people simple and small things can fix these issues it wouldn't even cost anything an extra piece of card top and bottom between steelbooks and box but it never seems to get done.
 
Having waited a full week now for my refund, I get an email this morning to say, they have now despatched my copy of TJB. Well done Zavvi. On the bright side I get to experience their return procedure for a second time, yeahh. :BS:
