I have not received THOUSANDS of rewardz points !
Just noticed this when I checked my rewardz points history !

Order value: 80
Points received: 15

Order value: 40
Points received: 30

And so on !

Sometimes even 0 rewardz points!

Mailed Zavvi about this... Thousands of rewardz points is at least 20-30 GBP I can spend on Zavvi.

One reward point is given for each pound spent. I doubt you've spent 'thousands' on Zavvi's site considering you hate them (or at least used to until a few days ago). To get £20/£30 in reward points, you will need to have spent £2,000/£3,000. I don't think a 'Zavvi lover' like myself has spent that much.

Also, how long does it take till Zavvi refunds you for returned items? Returned some products (not only steels) 2 weeks ago, but still no refund. I have a tracking code & insurance, but I am not pleased with the way they solve things :(

I have spend thousands, I don't only buy steelbooks. It's not only about recent orders, it covers a longer period.

OK, I might have exaggerated a little bit, I counted what I spend, but forgot to extract what I did receive. I am missing 1,100 points.

And a few people have purchased something after I send them a referral code (a while ago), but they didn't multiply it by 5 (they should have given me 5 points for every 1 gbp they spend on their first order, but they only gave me 1).

It's not much, maybe 13 GBP in total, but still...

You never thought to check before? To be honest it's just like Play.com's Superpoints. Mine were hardly ever credited correctly and I had to keep emailing them.

They do give me some rewardz points, so I never thought something was wrong. I only noticed it when I checked the 'Rewardz from your previous orders' part of the website.

Haha, just checked my Play.com superpoints statement. Many of my superpoints are expired and 240 are still pending (orders I placed more then 1 year ago). :p

Funny how i majority of users here think that companies are some sort of charity that cant think of making a profit whatsoever.

I don't think anyone minds a retailer making a profit as long as they charge a fair price for things but Zavvi certainly don't fall into this category as their steelbooks are overpriced & they are simply ripping people off.

Disney Steelbooks are expensive yes but everything else is reasonably priced. I don't see how they are ripping anyone off. Their prices are cleared stated on the website

On Zavvi steelbooks alone since Who Framed Roger Rabbit, I have spent approximately £315.
In total, I have 423 Reward points (no idea if that adds up correctly)
And I have approximately £631 of outstanding orders.
And i'm about to catch up on two other steelbooks.
Not too bad for a "Zavvi hater"

On a side note, 1 disc Jungle Book is £23. A couple of months earlier, a nicely embossed, glossy, Finding Nemo was £17. That's a £6 increase for no explained reason. But we shouldn't say anything??
"I think it's all Disney's fault" ...OMG Disney are holding Zavvi hostage, to save them i'm gonna stand up for their price increases!!

Only their Disney titles have been increased in price. I'm sure if Zavvi were looking to rip everyone off (by your definition of course, not mine), they would increase prices on everything. They wouldn't just increase prices on Steelbooks released by a studio who are known for charging high prices, even inventing a vault system to artificially sustain their high prices.

Roger Rabbit sold out on pre-order. Nemo sold out on pre-order.
HDN gave us a poll for Zavvi, for Disney titles.
They then sold Tron and Dick Tracy for £15 which sold out on pre-order.
Then Zavvi ordered 4,000 Aladdin, that sold out in a record couple of days, they then increased the print run.
Zavvi took left over orders/cancellations and sold them on ebay for £24.
Zavvi now knows Disney titles sell well.
They also think that people are willing to pay £24 for them after selling Aladdin on ebay. (stock that they had already bought from Disney and were able to sell for £17)
So have Disney upped the price on Zavvi or have Zavvi upped the price on us.... hmmm.

Just incase I posted in the wrong section in response to lack of content on Zavvi releases
As I understand it, it is the retailer that requests steelbooks. Right?

It would be fair to assume that with the request content is discussed as well. We can look at some worldwide releases and there is always difference in content even though it is the same worldwide. Some are 3D/2D and others 2D only. My assumption is that retailer has a say in content included all the time. Makes no sense to not have a say considering the studio has nothing to gain or lose unless content is exclusive at another retailer. How is it we can see three different exclusives in Germany alone for the last stand. Retailers have a say all the time. I think it cost more to add content and Zavvi has taken the minimalist approach.

What are the chances that different studios are all restricting Zavvi to single disc releases yet different countries get much better releases for comparable prices including more discs and content. ES exclusives have for the most part included more content than Zavvi. Yes prices are steep but at least you don't feel denied content wise except for H&G not having 3D disc. How is it ES, Play, HMV had releases like Star Trek 3 disc, Gladiator, Iron man e.t.c all had content from the same studios Zavvi is dealing with yet releases from them consistently lacking extras.

How is it ES and HMV don't encounter these limitations with their releases?

You say it costs extra to have more content. There, you just answered your own question. I imagine to produce a Steelbook case there is also extra cost. Maybe not that much, but extra nonetheless.

Yes Germany gets multiple releases but these Steelbooks can cost anything from €25-€30. Would people be happy to pay that much? Probably not. Zavvi are already getting slated for their high pricing. Adding extra content will drive up the prices even higher.

Play.com's Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Transformers, Private Ryan, Forrest Gump......all missing their bonus discs but still sold very well upon release. This is what Zavvi are basing their model on. They'll always get people who will buy them regardless.

I think this arguement will forever rage on. Zavvi will tell you the solution is simple. If you think it's too expensive or you're not happy.........JUST DON'T BUY!

And on this I agree i'm quite happy to buy 1 disc editions the same as these but these all have one thing in common they were all £10.99 for the 1 disc.
jungle book 1 disc £22.99 - (£12 more than play)
iron man 3 1 disc £23.99 - (£13 more than play)
For these prices i'd be expecting 3 discs = Blu-ray with bonus features disc & the 3rd disc either 3d or the digital copy depending on the release.

Even nemo & Aladdin were over priced and should have contained a second bonus features disc.

Cap. America 1 disc £15.99 - (£5 more than play)
Thor 1 disc £15.99 - (£5 more than play)
For these i'd be expecting Blu-ray and bonus features disc.

Any title containing a single Blu-ray should be at most £10.99 if zavvi were modelling after play.com then they've failed on a massive scale.

And for the record I don't buy from them not steelbooks not anything giving them my money would be the same as saying please by all means rip me of off.

A Steelbook that was £11.00 2 years ago is not going to cost the same or less today due to inflation, tax the economy etc..... Prices only always ever go up, never down. (At least in Ireland anyway!!)

I think what a lot of the problem here is that some people are sore that other people will pay Zavvi's prices whilst they themselves are not prepared to.

That's something you can never change. If people want to go out and spend that amount, then that's their perogative.

OK, you think they're overpriced. Then don't buy them. Simple as.

I don't agree with all of Zavvi's prices, but I'm glad I have the choice and variety of their Steelbooks. I'm prepared to buy any Steelbook that I may want to add to my collection. Personally I pass on all the Disney's because I think they ARE too high and not worth it.

I'd rather pay the Zavvi preorder price for something that may sell out before release date then pay double the price down the road on E-bay (plus postage costs)

If only it was as easy as telling everyone to stop buying from Zavvi. But it's something you'll never change I'm afraid.

Zavvi are indeed rip off prices but i pick and choose so it doesnt really affect me as such.

Even older releases they think they can charge as much as £10 more than any other site. They seem to have developed an ego in the market and are parading around like they are the kings of the steelbook world.

Everywhere else has premium collection steels for £10 whereas zavvi has them all a few quid more besides 10.000 bc. They appear to be blinded by their own greed and i see no sign of it stopping.

The best way to vote is with your wallet. Go elsewhere if possible and if its an exclusive then deal with it. Ive got a few preorders in with them because i want them but if theres another way to buy then i will go there.

People have the right to attack zavvi. This is the zavvi retailers thread. If it was all good positive comments only then you might aswell rename it to the zavvi fans rejoice thread.

This thread is to help people make informed decisions about shopping with zavvi and discuss their opinions and / or experiences. If it was only the positive comments then it wouldnt be much of a resource
