Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

When I received my damaged one this morning, I purchased another and sent a message to Zavvi, requesting they arrange return of the damaged one.

My 2nd order was dispatched at 3.30pm - great stuff. However...

I get an email from Zavvi asking for photos of the damaged one, before they decided to refund/replace. BEFORE THEY DECIDE?

Am I right in thinking that they can check the damn thing when it gets to their dep0t? who in their right mind would lie about a damaged steelbook and request a refund, once it has been received back. It a Zavvi exclusive, released today.

Its almost like... PROVE IT CUSTOMER and because you have to prove it by email, it gives them another chance to take a day, or two, to drag their heels.

In my opinion, this is poor. What if someone cannot get a picture to them?! and no contact number??.

I look forward to HMV returning online and any other healthy competition to Zavvi. Plain and simple, if there was, I would shop elsewhere.
 
Hi all, fyi-in order to share intermittent feedback, your comments have been shared with the Zavvi staff, and we hope they are able to investigate further and address these concerns. In the meantime, this thread will remain open, in case you wish to post other pictures specific to this issue. As mentioned initially, other retailers have also had this issue in the past, and we asked for feedback then as well. As usual, we hope this feedback is shared with the proper staff, and aids them in resolving this for their customers. Thank you for your patience as we communicate the comments you've shared here.

I personally find it strange what happened at Zavvi there.
No other provider has as many complaints.
It can not just be blamed on Zavvi.
I have already ordered all over the world but I do not happen.
What can we do about it?
 
Just received an email from Collect+ Services with a return label attached ? The only thing I have ongoing is my spine slashed JB from zavvi but I have had no instruction from anyone as to what has to be returned ?

I did email zavvi pics of the damage even though I was not happy about that either, what happened to customers right to be believed.

Has anyone used this in conjunction with a zavvi replacement ?

Just got these today, thanks to biscuitnoir for the evil dead. My Rambo has what looks like been bent all the way at the bottom don't no if i will send it back or not yet.
Are they stacking these on top of each other and somehow pressing down on them?

Hi Kamm-thanks for your comment. Rest assured that other retailers have experienced spine slashes, complaints about packaging, Amarays sent instead of Steelbooks, etc over the last years. We continue you to encourage you to contact any retailer directly to complain about, seek refunds for, or express positive feedback, if warranted.

As a general note-For the purposes of this thread and the spine slash thread, while we cannot solve individual order issues at HDN itself, our retailer-specific threads are meant for you to feel free to discuss any aspects of service, shipping, ordering, etc in a constructive manner. Personal attacks on other members, and baseless accusations are of course not acceptable, as always.

As in all of our threads, and the community as a whole, please note that any specific comments that surface again and again, are shared with retailers, and as mentioned in the spine slash thread for Zavvi, we continue to share any feedback gathered in our community. Hi Pud,

For what I can tell, when you request a return, you are given a choice of using Collect+ (never heard of it until Today) or by printing out the claim form from the help section of the website. To use the claim form you need the returns authorisation number (which is the six digit number quoted in the sender ref section of the Collect+ label).

This stuff really should not be this complicated. Though I suspect if we keep our pre-orders intact, we will be experts at dealing with this stuff in no time. :D
 
Hey Pud, unfortunately, not every retailer's process is as smooth as Amazon's for instance. There was a time when FNAC and DVDgo 2 retailers that carried exclusives asked for pictures as well. There are some refunds that took months to wrangle. It looks like some retailers have come around and refined some of these processes over the years...in large part due to feedback like yours. I have not yet (knock on wood) return anything to Zavvi (though some Steels are in transit right now). Perhaps someone here who has been through the process can help you. Got mine, but got a spine slash, definitely happened in the warehouse as the shrinkwrap is sliced too. My first damaged steel from Zavvi. Considering just getting the amaray, but in the back of my mind ill always be wanting the steel! :/

Well I posted on the JB thread,but I contacted them yesterday and they told me to order another but not just order..BUY another one and then return the damaged one.. I wonder what ever happened to a replacement copy:angry:
