Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Here's mine. Can't be unhappy with Zavvi though. It came well protected with the box in perfect condition.
The plastic was also perfect, but had a spine slash underneath the plastic and some nice healthy scratches on the back under the card.

This isn't the first I have received with the majority of the defects under the plastic. It's sad that the places that wrap these up treat them like garbage.

Does anyone know what this collect+ actually is? i thought i can just take it to my local post office but when i search the nearest collect+ service its a wine shop literally 5 minutes away from me? lol.

That's right. You willl be given a receipt with tracking code.

Yes they are like SPAR shops and newsagents mate ..... just hand it in and get your tracking ticket.

Thanks guys, just sent all 3 steelbooks off back to zavvi via collect plus! the guy at the counter didnt have a clue at first until he saw the barcodes on the boxes :ohno: but scanned and tracking for all 3 received. now the waiting game :movie:
 
Below is my spine slash JB, which I received last Friday.
Zavvi have finally sent me a collect + lable today , so hopefully I will receive a better replacement(as long as they havent sold out )Jungle.jpg

You might have to wait 7~10 working days for the refund email.

7-10 days! :ohno: not surprised, they usually take a week to reply to emails lol. I asked them for a replacement but I'm not sure whether to buy them again and ask for refund later, think it might be to late as I already filled the form in and sent it off :(
 
zavvi have sent me 2 returns addresses for a damaged steelbook. one is a collectplus address and another is The hut address.

can i choose either of them? if i choose the hut return, will this be ok? my instructions were to use the collectplus address however i dont live near a collectplus corner shop.
 
Earlier they used to supply different addresses, one on the form which we need to fill and one on the collect plus label but I believe they fixed the problem by providing the same address on both places. Having said that, I would strongly recommend posting to the address on the collect+ label.

This proves what kind of a messy company thehut group is.

Yep, always been that for me. Also sometimes they only refund for 1 item if you returned multiple items and have to chase them to refund in full. :rolleyes:

I returned 2 copies of Close Encounters and noticed that they only refunded for one.

Damn, Hopefully they sort out replacements quickly, really wanted to watch those 3 :(
 
Anyone else fed up with Zavvi customer service? I sent a message about a damaged steelbook and I swear they are just not reading what I'm typing. I'm getting generic replies over and over again and they are not answering what I'm asking. They're wasting my time and their time, having to reply to me over and over again, yet still not helping me. You'd think they'd actually read my message and reply right the first time...
 
Quick question folks. I received mine today thankfully dent free but unfortunately with some of those manufacturing paint scratches right at the back.

I'm really afraid to send this back for fear that I'll get one in return that's even worse. Damage is damage and this is still unacceptable, but as annoyed as I am about it, it's that light that I could deal with it IF I got a partial refund.

I'm basically just asking, do Zavvi only accept full replacements upon return of a defect steelbook, or to avoid the big rigmarole if I e-mailed them with a photo would they issue me with a partial refund if I asked like certain online retailers do? If so, does anyone know what percent they offer, or is it based on the level of damage?

Maybe sales of 3D TV's in the UK are low and thats the reason why zavvi keeps to 2d steelbooks as they'll sell better. I only own one 3D steelbook and thats the preorder for the normal ES edition of star trek into darkness as its an incredible steel. On here it seems like everyone owns a 3D TV as we love movies and we think they are worth the money yet I can not afford one.

considering the more recent influx of 3D steels, star trek, hobbit EE, great gatsby etc, I doubt that the reason at all.

I think Zavvi placed on pre-sale long before the launch, the staff bought it and after seeing a lot of releases in recent months, many have cancellations of orders, leaving to buy later.
Zavvi should be concerned with the returns is due to the cut on the spine of the Jungle Book and Rambo, several colleagues are returning their purchases for this reason.

So i had two copies of Jungle book both with spine slashes, sent identical requests for a return and new item and got got two replies... one saying yes and there is a collect plus form sent to me so i can send it back for free and one saying i need to send photos before they can do anything... these were sent 2 minutes apart! nice to see Zavvi have a good standard customer service policy!!!
also there was no collect plus label sent to me. severely un-impressed.
