Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

They usually offer 3 GBP refund but this time I am done with keeping Evil Dead 2013. All copies got paint chips on the back and they are going back for a refund.

Thanks for the reply man. I know how you feel and believe me on any other day I'd be doing the same, the goddamn movie cost €20 and this is unacceptable. In all honesty though I'm just too lazy, I hate Zavvis ridiculous returns form bulls**t. When you compare this type of customer service to other online retailers it just pales in comparison.

I got a damaged Canadian steelbook of Blade a few months ago via a reputable retailer I won't mention and I swear to God I've never seen such impeccable customer service in my life. I emailed them about my badly damaged steel and to my shock no frills no questions asked, they just apologised and said it would be far too expensive to return it to them and told me there was another on its way. A second copy arrived and it too was dented, upon emailing them again they issued me a third copy the same way.
I wrote very politely and honestly each time indicating that I could provide photographic proof of the damage if they needed etc etc, but there was no need. In the end the third copy was dented too  but nowhere near as bad as the first two batches. still a dent is a dent so I had to intervene. I was embarrassed to email a third time but I had to ask what my options were, the dude told me I could return all three for a full refund or just keep all three along with a partial refund on top of that. I have since sold the first 2 dented ones on Ebay for decent prices and kept the third. I reckon they were just shipping me a bad old warehouse batch because believe me they packed the things very securely.

Sorry for the ramble :hilarious: but long story short I have a beautiful Blade steelbook in my collection with a minor dent on the back but after all that I'm happy, I can deal with it because of how nice they dealt with the matter (plus I made my cash back tenfold via ebay )

I realise that retailers need to be cautious and weary of people abusing the system and they absolutely have the right to ask for evidence of damage and for the items to be returned, but in fairness the process here for returns if very labouring and annoying to say the least.

step 1. email them
step 2. wait 2-3 days for return email (if lucky)
step 3. add requested photo of damage to return email
step 4. wait a further 2-3 days for response
step 5. print and fill out attached returns form from them and package along with said steelbook.
step 6. wait between one week to a month for package to get to Zavvi (depending on where you live worldwide)
step 7. receive email stating they've received the product and are looking into issuing you a refund but in the meantime you can send them proof of postage so they can take 3-5 days to issue you a refund for postal costs
step 8. wait patiently on new package to arrive while gnawing your nails off due to the price of these things in fear that it will also arrive damaged :ohno:
step 9. receive 2nd damaged copy and repeat process all over again.

It's just so painful

I received my copy today and at first I was like "omg this is f**ing beautiful !", but then I noticed the spine slash :(
Now I'm waiting for a reply from zavvi's competent support personnel ...

Not worked out how to post pics on here yet. but i got 2 jungle book steelbooks arrived, both with spine slashes and having lots of 'fun' trying to get them returned.
first problem with Zavvi and i am pretty unimpressed with their customer service so far.

^^ This is the reason why I hate Zavvi's return process. Too drawn out and just not worth the hassle, unless the damage is really severe.

If a retailers return process is so bad, it's for the reason that they don't want customers to send stuff back. This attitude should encourage everyone to make even more of an effort to send their damaged stuff back. ;)

Another slashed Jungle Book steel book here. I can't post a picture right now as I'm just on my phone, but it looks just like all the other pictures- slashes right through the shrink wrap, cutting into the card and the steel itself.

Jungle Book spine slash. Cut through the shrinkwrap plastic across the spine, between letters "o" and "k" in "Book". Very similar to what many others have reported here.

Spine slash through the "k." Both plastic and spine are cut. Zavvi contacted. The title is still available on their website. We'll see.

Edit 1: Took some pics with the sunshine. Beautiful day, low 70s F and dry. Zavvi asked for some pics, so they got these too. ;)

On first glance, I thought it was slash-free, but nope. It's too much hassle for International members to return :(

Yeah it's not so easy for us since we don't get a free return label. But they agreed to cover the postage costs for me if I'd send them the bill. My advise: Just say that you want to return this no matter what and also expect them to cover the postage costs. If they slash up so many steelbooks they have to deal with the returns. ;)

This steelbook seems to be cursed with spine slashes, its ridiculous this is still happening, we should not have to worry every time we get a steelbook if its going to have the dreaded spine slash

Guys I may have come up with a workaround for Zavvi's awful change of bank card policy. I know a lot of you have been stung and missed out on sold out steels because your bank card has expired and Zavvi have no contingency plan in place for this. But I think I have solution, stop me if I'm wrong.

But I think if you pre-order your steels through paypal, and then just proceed to change your bank details on your paypal account, you just might get away with not missing out on your most wanted steels.

If anyone has tried this or already knows if it does or doesn't work, please let me know. Mine sadly expires in October :(

I recently moved away from PayPal payments with Zavvi. They randomly fail Paypal payments without a reason. All connected to my bank account with plenty of funds. Funds of which I have coming in and out everywhere else without any issue.

The problem with Zavvi is, they tell you to update your payment details in order to process the order. However, when you do this, they dont process the order again. 2 days later, they tell you to re-order, even if it is something that is sold out. Generic wastes of space!
