I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Just got my copy damaged sadly :(. This is my first time having issues with Zavvi so hopefully I can return this or get a replacement.

1) scratch under title

2) scratch along Mowgli's face

If you have two damaged Steelbooks can you return them on the same parcel?

Also, does Zavvi reimburse returns postage costs?? Would have to be sent with tracking so would be pricey enough.

Never returned anything before but Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 both turned up damaged today. That 'new' foam is about as useful as boil-in-the-bag ice cream!!!

Such a terrible company. I thought they might actually be turning a corner for a brief moment but I was wrong. The latest shambles of mis-picking Evil Dead 2 and Evil Dead remake steels sums them up nicely. Add in the new flimsy packaging and I'm getting less and less likely to order. 10% off for HDN is nice but they can still get stuffed as far as I'm concerned.

Received a second copy of 'Jungle Book' today, with an identical spine slash that again cuts through the shrinkwrap

Oi vey:( Some members have reported getting copies with no spine slashes, please also report back if you get a good replacement. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences here.

yeah...received 2 Jungle Books with Spine slashed too! Maybe it's time Scanavo ship them with a freaking cardboard in the middle where they cut them...wouldn't it be better that way?

My copy doesn't have the spine slash, but the embossed effect is a bit off the image. So not very happy with printing image to be shifted to the right, but I guess this will teach me that I need to be more careful with how many steelbooks I can buy and if they are so worth it.

Zavvi are getting on my nerves. I returned both Close Encounteres in one package and they only refunded for one. I emailed them about this and they said the concern has been passed to the warehouse to double check if I had returned both Steelbooks which is questioning my honesty and integrity.

hope u get it sorted mate but I wouldn't get your hopes up, same thing happened to me and not just the one time, I really hate giving zavvi my money but as they are the main steelbook retailer now I don't have a lot of options, I'm only buying steels from them that I really want now and I certainly wouldn't even bother to return anything as its a complete gamble imo whether u get a refund or not, awful awful company to deal with

Try this, I used it to contact them to stop a duplicate order while it was in their warehouse: 01606 336169

Does this phone number actually work? I'm getting perpetual busy signals from Canada dialing 011-44-01606336169

If I dial 011-44-1606336169, I get "the number of you have dialed has not been recognized", so I guess the "0" in front of "1606" is needed.

Received a slashed spine on Jungle Book. I sent in a query. Suddenly I get an email message stating that they can't cancel my Jungle Book order because it's already been dispatched. I never requested cancellation.

Anyone else fed up with Zavvi customer service? I sent a message about a damaged steelbook and I swear they are just not reading what I'm typing. I'm getting generic replies over and over again and they are not answering what I'm asking. They're wasting my time and their time, having to reply to me over and over again, yet still not helping me. You'd think they'd actually read my message and reply right the first time...

Ive always had this kind of service from them before steelbooks. Always just the same copy & paste response no matter what my issue was with the item. I really dont think they read the whole message, just the damaged part then paste a response.

The thing i hate worst, is when i return my item, i never hear a thing again, until i chase it up with them, then i get a generic "we dont seem to have received your item back in the warehouse" copy & paste.

Then a request for a proof of postage after 10 working days so they can initiate a 5 day refund. Honestly, ive returned maybe 5 items in the past 3 years and all 5 ive had to chase them up with them. Ridiculous.

I've really reached the end of my patience (and for those of you that don't know, I am a pretty patient guy overall...) with UK steelbooks in general.
Sorry, I know this is the spine slash thread. I posted my First Blood with spine slash a few days ago, but it also came with scratches on the back under the Jcard.

Today I was happy to receive Evil Dead 2 with no slashed spine and what looked to be a nice, mint steelbook, but as soon as I pulled off the Jcard, there were the scratches again!

I am really wishing that I was like most collectors at this point and kept them sealed. I counted them up, and 9 of the last 11 steelbooks I have received from the UK have had rogue scratches under the Jcard. Not just one scratch in one direction, but multiple scratches in multiple directions.
I really feel like there are just a bunch of douchebags working in a factory somewhere just scraping these all around face-up for kicks!

I'm so frustrated I actually contemplated stopping my collection tonight!

In response to my email about returning all the items in 2 orders I got a reply that I need to return the Games (Games??) from just one order using the RMA label. They completely overlooked that I had asked to return 2 orders and not just one despite clearly mentiong the order numbers. Looks like they don't even read emails properly.
