I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Anyone else fed up with Zavvi customer service?

I am fed up with their Customer Service-preordered TJB weeks ago-at Day of shippment they told me i have a payment Problem:wtf:
I never had payment Problems with them-they could always charge my CC and/or PayPal. i wrote them an E-Mail.
One Day later i got response- telling me i have a payment Problem - second E-Mail from me telling them again that they can charge my CC and /or PayPal.
A Day later i got response: Guess what they wrote??:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
They can kiss my hairy:ass: in the Future.

Never dealed with a more incompetent Customer Service like this one - really considering closing my Account

Almost forgot - ordered TJB form their Outlet a Day later and it was shipped without any Problems:p

2 evil dead orders, both damaged. Second one ordered had more damage than the first.

Emails, photos of damage before they ask and let's hope I get a reply this weekend (a return label)

Every steelbook Zavvi have sent me has been damaged. It's fine putting them in a box with foam (that now looks like wonder web!) but it's how they are stored in the warehouse that is just as important.

Train the staff at the dispatch centre, review the work place practices and help your own company make a profit.

I cannot see Zavvi lasting in the market, with steelbooks, at least. Why pay to sell exclusives when you can't look after your stock? Eventually, the returns and 2-3 pounds off here and there will add up.
Taking into account the increase in some pre orders, this could be the first sign of trying to claw back some profit.

A company without a customer services number speaks for itself. They know the phones would go into meltdown.

Eventually, competition will arrive. It always does.

I'd Purchased 'Safe House' Alongside 'The Adjustment Bureau', Although Both Copies Have Defects. Anyone Know If These Are A Bad Batch From Zavvi?

Query Raised With Zavvi, I'll Update Once I Receive A Reply.

Anybody know whether Zavvi is actually switching to the slimmer, less padded packaging received by many for Evil Dead etc., or is it possible they're just waiting on more stock of the thicker foam inserts and boxes?

I order very little from Zavvi now so have a question. Am I correct in thinking that we are seeing loads of manufacturing defects with Studio Canal steelbooks? I did order Evil Dead 2, which had the widely reported scratches on the back underneath the J-card. This is presumably Studio Canal's fault, is it not?

The reason I ask is that I do still have a couple of steelbook pre-orders with Zavvi (those which I think look too good to miss out on even if it does mean using a terrible supplier - Pan's Labyrinth and The Wicker Man). Both of these are from Studio Canal, though, so I'm considering cancelling them.

my "jungle book" just arrived...

what a mess. mine is slashed through the shrink wrap. i hope zavvi will change something in their warehouses soon.

i think i will keep it. it's tiny, i dont want to have the usual fight with costumer service and return policies, and i got it a bit cheaper anyway (6off60 code = 24 euros).

My replacement Jungle Book just arrived. No spine slash - but dented at the top and right through to the metal. It came in one of the "new" cardboard mailers with the thin (non existent) padding. Seriously considering ditching these Zavvi exclusives now.

does anyone know how long it normally takes for zavvi to send out replacement, once they have received the damaged one back ? Cheers Guys

If you can afford it, always purchase another and send the damaged one back for a refund. The proceed is very slow, otherwise.

Received my Jungle Book with a spine slash (Shrinkwrap, Spine and a bit of J-Card slashed!) yesterday... still have not received The Place Beyond the Pines or Rambo yet

^^ I can imagine somebody knocking over a whole box of these during packing, but instead of sending them all off to the rejects dept., or even taking the time out to look through and weed out damages, the persons have just dragged them all up off the floor and gone on with the packaging process

or maybe there's some sort of problem with manufacture, like a little piece of raised metal in a machine?

....either way, Quality Control seems to be totally out of a job
