Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Zavvi are giving me the runaround, they first responded to my enquiry with a copy & paste ignorant collect+ returns email.

I send a reply saying i cant do anything with that as i dont have a printer, after nothing all weekend, they respond again with the same copy & paste job i got first with a collect+ email!!!

Im positive they dont even read what you have to say, so far, its been 4 days and ive yet to get beyond emails....

Only the offer of a partial refund for me on a spine-slashed Jungle Book, which is completely unacceptable. I don't want a damaged item at any discount.

On top of their drawn out returns process (having to take taking pictures etc) I think it's highly disingenuous of Zavvi not to offer customers their statutory right of a refund and make it as difficult as possible (i.e. no reply by email possible) to pursue that option.

This is why getting damaged items from this company is such a nightmare. Compared to Amazon, for example, their customer service is in the Dark Ages.
 
Yes, i also had to send 2 separate enquiries for evil dead remake and evil dead 2, one reply told me to return via collect+ and the other asked for pictures of the damage. It was the same guy too!
 
There useless most of time when i email them they never answer back, they send me 10 percent codes as loyal customer all the time and they never work.

Going through my first zavvi returns.
I emailed yesterday got reply today saying send pictures of damaged steely.
I sent pictures today and now I wait.
 
I never understand the need to send them pictures in order for you to return it. Under Distance selling regulations you have 30 days to return it regardless of whether it's damaged or not if it's still sealed. My Jungle book has paint chips and a scratch on the cover. It's still sealed yet they want pics.

I should have just marked it as unwanted gift.
 
Just cancelled all of my Zavvi Steelbook pre orders - 20 Items. Too many damages, late deliveries, and poor new packaging.

I'll pick up the odd ones on ebay after where i know i'll get a mint copy
 
My two copies arrived, one perfect, the other with small spine slash, but it hasn't gone through to steelie thank god. They now really need to get their act together, soon they will have more cancellations than they have orders!!!!
