Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

First time packaging

Well i've just received The Prestige and After Earth Steelbooks from zavvi.

They were both packaged in 2 jiffy bags each... Luckily they were undamaged

Sorry for the double post, but I just received two deliveries from Zavvi this morning. Pain & Gain came in a double jiffy bag like the above poster, but 13 Assassins came in a cardboard envelope and the shrink wrap was torn in places. Sorry for the quality of the pic:

I will contact Zavvi customer service to enquire about this change in packaging. Will post any response that I get in this thread.

This happens every few months. Most likely they've run out of the boxes again and they're making do with whatever they have available for now.

Hardly anything sinister going on. They're not going to hold onto Steelbook orders until the boxes come back in!

got my Pain and Gain in a jiffy bag and got 3 dents in it, last time I order from zavvi, got damaged Jackie brown too, I better get a big partial refund on Pain and Gain or I'l go fkin nuts, I'm def not returning it so I can get screwed out of a steelbook and full refund like I did before

Unsurprisingly, my 13 Assassins is dented and scratched. I'm a bit concerned about my preorders now. Will see what Zavvi has to say about the packaging change.

What the hell is this all about? Seriously when I read stuff like this it's very frustrating. Why is Zavvi pulling this BULLSH*T?

If Zavvi wants to up their game in customer service to ...say Amazon's level, then fine. But since they are often extremely difficult to deal with post purchase, hearing that they are screwing around with their package quality in a backwards direction is very very frustrating, and a slap in the face to their customers. If this is true. Eff that. I hope it's not true. Like so many others here, I have a LOT on preorder with them. All of the sold out Disney steels for starters. If they think it's funny to risk their customers' money buy placing valuable merchandise into jiffy bags and unprotected cardboard mailers, I just may quit ordering from them altogether. Seriously. I am serious. I am so tired of their lack of customer care. I am still waiting on 2 steelbooks that I never received from August. Replacements were sent 6 weeks ago, and guess what.... to my old address. The address that I changed on my Zavvi account in August is the address they used in December. Why? Because it was on the original preorder. What a ridiculous way to do business. Enough is enough.

Anyone use Paypal on their Pre-orders? All my Disney pre-orders were cancelled but another order I had with available steels (Whitnail, Halloween..) was processed (both using paypal) Now I'm aggravated

Zavvi should take payment a few days (3-5 days) before release date so that they can get it to you on release date. So for example (in my case) if the release date is on a Monday they will charge your card on Tuesday or Wednesday.
