Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

first real issue with zavvi. Ordered Taxi Driver on xmas eve when more stock magically appeared. No despatch email arrived by the 2nd jan so emailed them to be told that they have been unable to source more stock from the supplier, my order would be cancelled and here's a 10% code for future use. Bit pissed but my own fault for not grabbing this earliler. Normally the 10% code would of been ok, but Zavvi had already emailed another 10% code that day.
 
Thabk digitalbabe fir info but I got my code but can I put it in to see how much discount then not use it till I order something , also would I be able to cancel some preorders even some that are sold out such as wreck it ralph and boy in pjs and then re order them again with said code as I added it up I've got about £250 in pre orders so even 5% would be £12.50 which to me means goonies steel

Hi Howie, no I don't believe you can't check it in advance. Once you enter it in the system, it may be registered as 'used'. But I have not tried it myself.

I recently received 2 of my steels double jiffy bagged. First it was princess bride and i just thought it was because its near worthless but then i got planes through like it!

Both werent damaged luckily but planes had a couple of dents on the back edge of the jcard which thankfully didnt go through to the steel.

Their box packaging has never failed me and ive ordered maybe 30 odd and all arrived mint. No idea why they would risk jiffys now.

Games-we have been told that there was a box shortage on the box manufacturer level. They should have more soon-see note in OP (at bottom). Thanks!

I havent used my code that i received as of yet but i have tried it to see how much it is (10%). I did that a few times on various different things but havent purchased anything. My code is still valid though.
 
waiting on response from Zavvi about my damaged Pain & Gain steelbook then I will close my account, its a shame they are ruining steelbook collecting for a lot of people, def the worst online company Iv'e ever dealt with but I'm happy to be finally done with them

I'l only order from Asia or Amazon from now on

Just to add to Zavvi Packaging Watch - got a steel through the post today in a jiffy bag too. Unscathed fortunately but given my colossal pre-order with Zavvi, I'm hovering over the cancel button on some of them.
 
for the millionth time,zavvi are OUT OF STOCK. on there boxes and are WORKING on getting some more,if you are that worried do not order from then until it is sorted
 
Apart from pre-orders I've placed for other family members I've cancelled all my own personal ones. Thor 2 was the final straw, they should have told Disney to try again. I let the terrible Iron Man 3 slide but I cannot forgive them for this.

I might pick up cheap steels from them in sales, but from now on I'm Amazon only.

I hope my copies of WIR make it ok. Like a china shop running out of bubble wrap.

Last time i got a mangled steelbook they told me they would give me 10% refund which im still waiting for. That was 3 months ago. Wont make that mistake again.
 
I have only had 1 problem with Zavvi, I received one of my Steelbooks a few months ago damaged so I emailed them & they just wanted pictures of the damage & then they sent me a replacement. I am waiting for 5 Steelbooks that seem to be taking longer than normal but so far I am pleased with their service.

Followed up on 09-01-2014
Got a reply on 10-01-2014 asking me to wait 10 days for action
Followed up on 11-01-2014 asking why I should wait for so long and got a reply that they checked with warehouse but could not locate the package. Asked me to send proof of posting receipt when they had the tracking data.
Today they said action would be taken.

If this continues I think Zavvi will soon go into administration.

it really is depressing having to deal with them, I'm trying to get a partial refund from them and they asked me the other day to tell them my order number that they already clearly have so that was about 3 days since Iv'e heard from them, I'm sure they work this way just so ppl get fed up and don't bother returning things
