**Retailer charges cards when items ship

Per update received at HDN, starting with August 4,2014 releases, Zavvi will ship in boxes again.

Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Nonetheless - how the hell do you run out of boxes?

I know most companies run on a 'just enough' stock, or 'just in time' delivery service but either of those is supposed to monitor stock levels as a matter of course.

the box thing is clearly not there fault,it's the manufacturer's. im sure they did run on "just in time" stock,but they probably didnt bet on the manufacture cock up

Wow that's bad I must have been lucky I only bought Hot Fuzz was one I never got round to buying was only 6.99 it's not one of the best steelbooks but it arrived in jiffy & was ok.
To have 4 all damaged is bad.

How do you know who's fault it was? Did they tell you? Do you work for the box manufacturing company? For all the times you call people's opinions stupid, please say it one more time in the mirror.
calm down. no point attacking me,i was not attacking jack in the first place. second i was merely repeating what digitalbabe stated in her post about the boxes. who may i remind you is HDN staff. so yeah i trust whatever she say's. i never claimed to work for anyone.
 
It's understandable that people are frustrated if I received 4 damaged steels I'd be fuming. I think it's a lack of clarity. If they had maybe put info on the Zavvi site to say if you're ordering steelbooks we are having problems with packaging customers would know where they stood.It would show they care. They are probably the leading sellers in the uk now for steelbooks & they must be making a fortune. A bit of communication goes a long way.
 
I think some people just need to calm down. i don't think people understand the term "debate" i have never ever personally attacked someone on HDN. infact the guy who i had a debate with yesterday we both clarified we had no beef between eachother.

The release date was changed over two months ago, have you been living in a cave?

doesnt matter. they should still notify us by email that the date had been changed. not just change it on a whim and take the money out of our accounts whenever it suits them. we need to be kept informed about date changes of our orders, via email or a message in our zavvi account.

Zavvi can't seam to please anyone can they? Delay a steelbook and get slated and pull a steelbook forward and get slated so they can't win,
My view is if you pre order you need to check as pre order dates change all the time!!

Also if you checked in your account ur would have had the new date which was updated months ago.

As you pre-ordered the item and therefore made an offer to purchase it, you gave them the right to take the money from your account. If you don't want something, don't pre-order it. Maybe you should keep track of pre-orders yourself, it is very simple to check the Zavvi website or subscribe to threads here. If you had checked the Zavvi website once in the last two months, you would see the date had changed. Most would be happy that the date has been moved forward, but no as it's Zavvi, it's time to have a good moan.

Yes, you pre-ordered the item as an offer to purchase. the release date is part of the offer. the same as the price and product details. if any of those things change, we should be notified as the deal and offer has changed.

an email is all the info we need regarding any change to the deal.

its not just a simple date move when money is involved. its absolutely no problem, if we, the paying customer are kept informed. pretty reasonable request, i think.

also, reviewing your pre-orders via zavvi's site is a nightmare, since the interface is user-unfriendly. you are only presented with a bunch of random code numbers, not the product names themselves, so if you have multiple orders spanning pages, that is a lot of codes to go through. ie the site is useless for reviewing and keeping track of your orders

God damn it! I just got my first casualty of the jiffy bag shipments. :(

I hope to Christ this is not their new norm and my latest Disney and Pixar titles were not also sent out this way. If this is their new shipping method I don't think I'll buy from them any longer.
 
Hey guys-I've checked with our contacts for you and Zavvi has confirmed that the box manufacturer took longer than expected, and they had a shortage. Those arriving in jiffys should be double wrapped. If yours doesn't arrive that way and you suffer damage, I would continue to customer service. They should have more boxes by Tuesday, and new releases like Toy Story should be shipped in boxes.

Just received a Steelbook from Zavvi this morning in double jiffy envelope, fortunately it isn't damaged but am considering cancelling my "Rush" preorder as not happy that they seem to be out of boxes. If I were you I'd get a refund as there's no guarantee your replacements will be ok. Take photos of all the damage & email them to Zavvi & ask for refund. I'm sure you could get Nightmare before Xmas off eBay or from a HDN member. Saying that I just received a steel from an ebay seller this morning & it has paint chips under the j card. To be honest am starting to question if I want to continue collecting as it's not worth the stress.Have noticed recently that some people are getting out & selling their steels.

Just contacted them, we'll see how it goes.
I personally don't really get stressed from a few paint chips (depends on the size of them and the price I paid for the steelbook though)...of course I like them mint! At first I'm a little dissapointed if they have paint chips but after a few moments I almost always think mehh hardly noticeable. Dents and scratches however....:angry:
 
I think Zavvi Outlet are trying to pull a fast one with me. I sent my damaged 'Team America' back to them for a replacement and after a week they've sent an e-mail about a refund to my bank:angry:. I paid 7 quid for it, no way I'm ordering it again for the price they have it at now (£14). They better send me my replcement lol:ohno:

They also need to put the correct despatch estimates on the order page, they always say the release date of the item, but they take the money 6 days ahead and ship 5 days ahead.

Basically, everything to do with zavvi is a shambles.
