Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Currently dealing with Zavvi's Customer Service trying to get a replacement copy for my Place Beyond the Pines Steelbook that arrived damaged after they mailed it in a single bubble envelope. :(:angry: It is dented at the opening and has a series of indentations across the front cover from a machine or wheel. I had problems sending them a JPG photo at first and then downsized it and sent it without any apparent problems but they are telling me they did not receive it so I have resent the photo and another e-mail. I have given Zavvi a lot of business and lodged only one complaint in that time that they dealt with satisfactorily when I never received my Planet of the Apes SB. I could have lodged another when my Junglebook arrived with a spine slash but I let that one slide so their response to my complaint will be instrumental in determining how much of my cash goes into their pocket in the future.;)
 
I'll be getting in contact with Zavvi on Tuesday due to the non appearance of my Point Break Steelbook i ordered. Apparently it was dispatched Jan 14 so its obvious its not gonna arrive now.

It's my first problem with Zavvi. Hope all goes well and they send me a copy

Im still waiting on 3 of mine. Toy story 2 & 3 and fantasia.

These were the ones i repeatedly tried to cancel but they forced them on me. Pretty strange that i got the other 2 but not these3 and all were shipped 15th. No idea whats going on there...

Steelbooks you tried to cancel haven't arrived? :rolleyes:
 
I'm waiting on 2 also. Toy Story and Toy Story 3. Toy Story 2 and WIR came on Tuesday. Fantasia cam yesterday. All dispatched the same day. Strange how they get so spread out. I'm also still waiting on a Goonies which was sent out a week or so before and is likely making its journey with just a double Jiffy bag to keep it warm.
 
I'm sick of them. Got a damaged Fantasia, sent it back as per instruction etc. I've done all the e-mailing and running around. They have my money. Now been told it will be at least 2wks before they will process a replacement. Totally disgusted. This is the 3rd time i've had to put up with this c**p. I think I will have to go to Trading Standards.
 
Cancelled ALL my zavvi preorders (disney, aviator, twbb....)
Simply got no answer about my city of god problem since 10 days! After 2 mails!

Bad Service!!!
 
Been searching for a little bit, but can't seem to find the discussion (I think) I remember, so will ask here:

Can you, in fact, cancel a pre-order item from an order that was placed, with other items which have already been shipped, and the order used a discount code?

I have tried and searched and can't seem to do it, short of emailing CS, which is generally less than responsive...

You can, but you need to directly contact them to cancel it. Go to your order summary and press the "Query" button and follow the instructions.
 
I'm getting so fed up of Zavvi having 90% + of all the Steelbook releases, horible company to deal with especially when your steelbook turns up damaged

Honestly Nat, I wouldn't bother waste your energy on a company like Zavvi. Until people decide to not buy from them they will keep going the way they are. I for one have boycotted Zavvi since Finding Nemo and wont be using them even until there service improves. There are so many options out there these days so it just a matter of being patience and waiting for a retailer that releases the Steelbook you want. So don't stress and be happy ;)
 
I guess I'm one of the very lucky Zavvi customers to still not have had a problem with them. Haven't received a damaged steel from them yet.
 
I just got my first damaged steel from them. If you look at the side that opens, it was warped. I bent it straight and now it's fine. Easy fix as I hear from everyone customer service is lacking

sorry to hear that,and the CS is actually not that bad,people just expect instant free replacements like amazon..
