Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Can someone please explain wtf is going on with my order and what i can do to rectify it?

I forgot to update my card details before my old card expired. I received an email today for Aliens saying the payment wasn't processed.
I've since tried god knows how many times to 'resolve' like they ask you to but each time I do it it logs me out.
I've added a new card but that still doesn't have seemed to made a difference. I've also sent them a message (still waiting for a reply) and have phoned them for a voice recording to tell me that I have to do it through the website (even though the email I had told me I could ring that number).
How the F**k this business hasn't gone bust yet is beyond me. The customer service with them is shocking!

I had the same with my From Dusk till Dawn-paid through paypal but the charge came out on an old card-I would imagine they would have emailed me but they have not updated my details when I changed them last April so I was not made aware of the issue-you should be able to go into your account & switch to a new card-if the item is still available...

So my card on file has just expired. Unfortunately, I wasn't wise enough to update for some of my older orders of sold out steels. Zavvi informed me to let the payment fail and then update my details as prompted. Has anyone had success with this method?
 
Hey Che, nope-I, too have many open orders, and when the 1st one failed (my bank card was compromised, so they issued a new one, of course after I placed all of my orders), I was sent an e-mail to 'resolve the issue'. I go through all of the steps, and then after I click 'resolve' or 'submit' it sends me to a blank screen, and nothing happens.

That's demoralizing. I guess I'm going to miss out on all the sold out steels. There will be blood is the one that really hurts.
 
Yeah, unfortunately due to this system issue they seem to have every time, some cancellations may well become available again at some point. I really hope they update their system in the future, so this doesn't keep happening....

Worthless system. It's incredible that they haven't been able to resolve the issue yet. The funny thing is that I won't take the chance of opening a query directly from the order summary, as cs are likely to tell me that there is nothing they can do and that they will need to cancel my order. That's happened to me in the past. I've tried emailing them but no luck yet.
 
I too just received a payment error email because I had a few charges for multiple Zavvi orders and my credit card company placed my card on hold for possible fraudulent activity. I then checked my credit card account online and verified that the charges were legit.

And now I'm trying to re-charge the card through the order correction process on Zavvi's site and when submitting the action, I get taken back to the login screen, over, and over, and over.

I just sent an email to their customer service, telling them about the situation and hoping they can re-charge the card from that.

How frustrating.

At least it's not just me and will hopefully mean a fix soon.

Drop them an email on Facebook as well - they seem to be more on the ball there
 
I have too problem with "resolve the problem payment" by "Attempt to recharge the card" it return me to the login page. :(

I dont know why but when I enter to zavvi facebook, facebook takes me to home page. :(
I cant enter to zavvi facebook.

Slight update...I emailed them this morning and got a rather general response back to go to their website to correct the payment issue (which obviously didn't help me). I emailed them a second time with more detail and also sent them a message via Twitter (as I don't have a Facebook account...yes, I'm one of the few) ha

Oh yeah, I also called them and an automated message told me to go to their website for FAQs or query through the website.

Their customer service sucks, to put it bluntly.
 
Zavvi mind games. When sales slow to a halt, what better way to drum up enthusiasm than to create the illusion of an OOS steelbook, only for it to then mysteriously reappear for everyone to pile in before it goes OOS again.

Is this a weak attempt at trolling or do you genuinely believe what you wrote?

It would be far from the first time it has happened.

Why would Zavvi wait until now when any hype has died down and they have already started discounting the title? Why not do it a week after release when people are still talking about the film and it is still at full price? I have heard some funny things on this forum, but this just about takes the cake :hilarious:

I got a reply from [email protected]. Recommend everyone to bombard that email address with messages (preferably similar subject lines like: Important: Zavvi payment issue or something like that). I was told they are working on resolving the issue (really?) but I was advised to cancel and re-order. I have issues with Dumbo and Peter Pan, so thanks for that one.

Anyway, they keep defending themselves by saying the error only affects a small number of customers, so be sure to tell them that you know others who have the same issue.

At least there's a smaller chance of getting an unrelated automatic response if you email them directly.
