I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

I had another Zavvi steelbook order turn up in a crappy cardboard envelope today, though it was still completely mint. Surprisingly, it was Hermes who brought it, without me paying for express delivery. :)

Zavvi please put out a code so we can order Robin Hood with it!

Codes are KEY to your steelbooks selling well and creating the frenzy that you want to happen.

Cmon Zavvi! "Code! Code! Code! Code!" :scat:

My basket shows 2000 copies of Planes Steelbook, how do I set this to zero in one go?

I only seem to be able to reduce this buy 1 quantity at a time.

I too just received a steel from Zavvi with a loose disc...and of course, it's a copy that I wasn't planning to open.

Has anyone else had any luck in getting Zavvi to replace or discount a steelbook with a loose disc?

Three Steels arrived with a loose disc lately (all Disneys or Pixar), but I would never have the idea to get a replacement or refund for this. I am glad that the steels arrived mint.

I understand that some may think that it's not an imperfection.

However, of the many Blu-rays/DVDs I've ever ordered in my years, I've had a small percentage with loose discs. Come to find out when opening the case, a number of them had a broken spindle, hence the loose disc. But I can understand that without opening the case, you don't really know if it's a damaged spindle/case or just that the disc simply became loose.

It's just frustrating, but I understand both sides of the argument.

Does anybody know when exactly the big anniversary sale will start today? Is there already a thread for it?

Yes. I was also wondering does anyone have any inside information on if they will be having any more offers or price reductions in conjunction with the anniversary sale?

I know some Steelbooks were marked down today (old titles, most of which I already have) but other than that, I don't really see anything special on offer to celebrate about. Is there going to be something more later?? :naughty:

Boy was that a major disappointment. To think I steered clear from eBay for a day or two to see if some of the Pixar titles would be reduced by a couple of pounds. Nope. Would've loved a 10% of code.

Mega Monday was at it's finest before Christmas last year, loads of great titles at great prices means this is a mediocre Monday.

I am disappoint...

Could anyone tell me what happens in this situation
I have loads of pre orders with zavvi striped aviator Mars beetle etc but my card runs out end of this month what's the best way to sort this

I know if its me or i just can't find it. Prices are showing in Euros where as before it was in pounds, any way to change it back? Just weird because it also doesn't automatically use my payment card like it did before even though its saved on my account.

Hate to break it to you, but somewhere on Zavvi's website it states you'll have to cancel and re-order if you have to change address/card details. Don't take my word for it, but I'm sure that's what I've been told.

I might be in the same boat as you if I move house, as I can't change my damn billing address. Will have to either cancel them all or get my post redirected in hope they survive unscathed

At least Amazon allow you to do that. Rant over :)

Cheers for that I'll give them a call see if that helps as I do t even have the new card for an item that is released in may and my card ends in march but I thought as much and I bet if I cancel it won't go straight onto website as I'm talking about the solid out stuff

This happened to me a couple months ago. I just updated the credit card expiration date in my payment details account page and my upcoming order was processed just fine.

Though, I wonder whether this would yield the same result each time.

Something else that happened to me recently (I previously posted here)...my bank placed my credit card on hold due to several "suspicious" order charges from Zavvi. I cleared it up with my bank and they released the hold. In the interim, I received an email from Zavvi that the order they were trying to dispatch had a payment problem and it provided a hyperlink to correct/update the payment information. I quickly updated the information at that time and within 2 business days, Zavvi ran the charge through successfully and dispatched the order.

So from both these scenarios, I'd suggest a pre-emptive strike in updating the payment information in your account. Then wait to see if Zavvi has a problem with the payment. If so, you should receive an email from them to correct the payment information before they process the payment and dispatch your order.

I'm sure some people will say that if it's a limited supply item, you may not want to risk losing it, but then if the item is currently "sold out", then I definitely don't think it's worth canceling the order before you know there's actually a problem.

I've just done the same. My old card ended in Feb so I contacted them first (telling them not to cancel anything!!) and they just told me to enter the new expiry date when the new card arrived, which I did. I haven't had any new orders delivered yet though :ohno:

I would agree and in this day and age I find it surprising. What surprises me even more is people still pre order not even knowing what they are buying. Zavvi know a good majority of collectors are very gullible so why release info that could result in loss of sales when customers will buy it anyway. I wouldn't buy a car or a kitchen without knowing the ins and outs of it all neither would I buy a steelbook. I think a lot of collectors become addicted then that's it they just have to have it regardless of any criteria. This puts the retailer in a very good position.

Before Play.com came along, it was very rare to be given a preview of anything other than the front cover, nevermind the finish or embossing details. At the end of the day, if you're not comfortable buying something where you can't see the full product, that is fine but don't imply that there is something wrong with those who are willing to take the risk.
