Fave sci-fi movie of ALL TIME?
Whoo boy, hardest question ever for me as that's my fave genre.
I guess I'll have to go with the same answer I've stated in like minded discussions.
- Haskins' 1953 War Of The Worlds

As a young boy, this was one of the first sci-fi films I ever saw and was VERY fortunate to see a theatre release about 1967!
The drop dead gorgeous (and ominous!) Martian War Machines, together with a very tight script made it an instant classic for me.
Since then, I've owned it in every type release I could find.
I of course also grabbed;
- a lovely dvd and a cd copy of Orson Welles' radio version
- Jeff Wayne's opus musical version (CD original!)
- a beautiful leatherbound of H.G.'s book (collected with his other stories)
- the tv series on dvd (which has a few wonderful episodes paying homage to the '53 film)
- a gorgeous Martian War Machine fig/model (boxed) from 'Pegaseus' (real copper! or looks like it, heh) about 12 inches wide x 6 inches to top of cobra neck.
- and have all the other WotW films which as we know, are quite hit and miss, heh (I think Spielberg's would have been great...without the kids, sigh).
