Quentin Tarantino has tapped Jerrod Carmichael to co-write a Django/Zorro movie based on the crossover comic book series of the same name, multiple sources tell Collider.. Written by Tarantino and released by Dynamite Entertainment and DC Comics, the series served as a sequel to the director’s 2012 movie Django Unchained starring Jamie Foxx.

The story takes place several years after the events of Django Unchained. Django is still a bounty hunter, and since there’s a warrant on his head back east, he has mainly been plying his trade in the western states. After safely settling his wife, Broomhilda, near Chicago, he takes to the road once again, sending her funds whenever he completes a job. It’s by sheer chance that he encounters the aged and sophisticated Diego de la Vega — the famed Zorro — and soon finds himself fascinated by this unusual character, who can also hold his own in a fight. It’s not long before Django becomes Diego’s ‘bodyguard’ and joins him on a mission to free the local indigenous people from slavery.

I honestly never knew these comics existed, but a part of me wants to collect them now. Love the idea of Django and Zorro teaming up!

I’m honestly not a fan of Zorro so I’m not sure

I wouldn’t want this to be his last film anyway if he does stick to that

co writing, probably won't direct and if he does this wont be his last ... which will throw the 10 out the window. Let alone the fact he hopes to write or get his ideas for a Star Trek movie off the ground.

I really hope he directs more than 10 films!! But this is very interesting Dja go is my fav film of his and hopefully if a decent director picks this up with QT behind it could be really fun!

Interesting.

I can definitely see him doing more than 10 films... even if he does seemingly stick to that plan at first, I reckon he'd eventually come out of retirement sooner or later. The guy is always coming up with great script ideas, and we all know how passionate he his about films, so I doubt he'd be able to stay away too long lol.

Thanks for the tag @Noodles! I hadn’t heard about this before either. Sounds cool, although I’m not huge on Zorro normally I would be interested with Tarantino involved!:D
I’m hoping he does more than 10 films but I’m not convinced he will. He has a lot of other stuff going on with his cinema and other things. He took quite a break between Jackie Brown and Kill Bill. I think it was 7 years. I can see him doing the 10 and then finishing as he said always leave them wanting more, which we will. Lol.
I do see him writing scripts though or co-producing projects, I don’t think he will stop being involved in movies completely.

Didn't he once say he planned to do theatre/plays? Or maybe I just dreamt that. :p

I think you are right mate. He was saying how basically The Hateful Eight was just like a stage play. I’m sure he did say he wouldn’t mind writing a stage show or something like that. I still would prefer he directed but as long as he has some involvement I would be happy. One of my favourite films is Dusk Till Dawn and he only wrote the screenplay for that. I do like Robert Rodriguez though, he definatly knows how to do a Tarantino style film! Lol.
