Good choice but not really feeling either option. Kimchi seems to be having a little trouble in the artwork dept of late. I think we just have to come to terms with the fact that smaller films don't always get 20 different international poster designs and as such sometimes it's going to be a bit more difficult to secure something more original that the studios are happy to run with.

Still I'd like to see some other options materialize with a bit of luck. =)

I prefer A as well but does anyone else dislike Glossy finishes. This mostly applies to users who open their steelbooks since those who keep them sealed may not apply. The Glossy finishes by Kimchi that are being used scratch and show lots of small scratches, especially on the back. For users who prefer to have mint-ish steelbooks, not necessarily OCD mint, having so many small hairline scratches can be aggravating.

Absolutely love this movie so I'm pretty hyped.

If it where up to me, I'd do a combination of the two artwork options. Kaw's front and spine with A's back but losing the cast list on the front/credits on the back. It just makes the steelbook much cleaner without them. At a minimum removing the credits off the back of A is a must, imo.

See, now that is more like what I'd expect of Kimchidvd. But now it looks like something Plain Archive would come out with.

Edit: what I mean is those slip ideas look like something Plain Archive would come up with, or what Kimchidvd may have come up with in the past, but not anymore.

FINALLY! About time this got a SteelBook release :woot: Thank you Kimchi  :)

Type A without the border on the front. Full Gloss or Spot Gloss on title and characters. No embossing.

Type B needs some artwork on the back. Full Gloss or Spot Gloss on title and characters. No embossing.

A third choice would be great as both candidates are practically the same.

Insise artwork

I think I've placed my last Kimchi order. I'd like one of these, but they don't even respond to emails. Maybe this will end up on fleabay at some point.

I prefer Kaws design its just stunning, simple and elegant! Good to see our artworks being considered for real releases! Congrats Kaw

Thanks Buddy! I was quite pumped when i was told they might use it. Hope they do.
But seems like a lot of people like "A" for some reason... I personally feel like A is way too messy (I know i'm slightly biased). Ive always been a fan of more clean steelbooks with good artwork.

For people wondering why I didn't put any back art on it, it was on purpose. I tried many things with my concept, but in the end I wanted it to represent the film and have it clear of clutter. Kind of like if this was just a single memory in Joel's mind about to be erased. I also wanted the steelbook to look a bit like block of ice. When i added any back images it took away from that. Of coarse this is my personal preference and everyone has different tastes and I'm cool with that. Just thought people should know why I made it look how it is.

Congrats Kaw. I really liked the white ice on your design compared to the blue ice in Type A. I think the blue ice messed Type A because they have to put a white border to match the white spine and back. Hope yours will be the final artwork.
