Hmm. So much for Zavvi's "exclusive"
This is Warner Home Video release in Spain

UK is a Zavvi exclusive not available from any other retailer in the UK
That's what exclusive means

Lots of the same steelbooks get released worldwide but some have as an exclusive for a particular country to a retailer

Zavvi also don't make steelbooks they just sell what the film studios offer them some as exclusives for the UK

This is a Warner Home Video release

Yea, i get that , Paul. But they could have used another expression to describe a release. At the end ofthe day, its a marketing ploy to get the consumer to believe they buying something that nobody else has.

It seems Spain have been getting a few of the same waves that Zavvi have had, which is good if it sells out on Zavvi. Though with some of the previous waves it seems Spain's releases sell out faster

But this how the term "exclusive" has always been used. No ploy involved, or at least it's the same old ploy, which shouldn't come as news to anybody.

E.g., Thor UK steelbook was an HMV exclusive release, yet it was pretty much the same that everybody else (in other countries) had.

Thanks for the info will keep more updated on this to see what release this will get...

But it will, ironically, be available from Zavvi's Spanish web site

I know that they have websites in Holland and Spain

They are a UK company registerd in the UK
Zavvi are they only UK retailer who will be selling it
So it is an exclusive in the UK

Other countries get same Steelbooks all the time

Lot of people keep forgetting
All of the products on Zavvi website is from other companies
Zavvi don't make any products
They are a retail shop same as Amazon/Hmv/etc

Film studios decide on a release
Retailers sometimes approach the film studio on a release and agree to taking all stock and work together on artwork and finish and cost of release

Majority of the time it's the film studio approaching the retailer we decided to release this title do you want it as an exclusive
If the retailer says no they then decide to either cancel the release or release it on general release

With a lot of popular titles the film studio will release the same title in other countries as a general release with exclusives in different countries

It's usually only with hard to sell titles that will be only released in one country as a real exclusive
If they don't get an agreement they often don't bother doing the release

Amazon UK and even Zavvi often decide no to an exclusive as it can be a risk
It then can still be released in Spain or France or Germany etc

It's very rare with film releases that a release is a true exclusive in only one country from one retailer only

I think that is the point. It is deceiving. Naturally when one hears the word "Exclusive" you immediately think this is the one and only. Descriptions in the market world can often mislead people into thinking one thing when the small writing unveils the truth behind it.
