Well those letters correspond with the color of each girl on the front of the steelbook Red, White, Black, Yellow... So that's got to mean something

That's partially correct, but it is really the initials of the 4 girls students of the Beacon Academy - Ruby Rose (red), Weiss Schnee (white), Blake Belladonna (black) and Yang Xiao Long (yellow)

Beacon academy trains students to fight monsters (Creatures of the Grimm)
