Awesome movie one of my favourites will wait for the artwork reveal before purchasing thanks for the link @snooloui...
I've been hoping for this for AAAAAAGES. But I guess this is part of another pop-art wave of shite
Probably censored since it'll be distributed by the Romans!
In all seriousness this is one of my all time faves and I'll probably take a dip. Let's see the artwork first (please don't be poop art! )
Oh no please don't be pop art excited for this don't want to be let down...
real happy to see some older classics being released on steel....only wish Blufans, Kimchi, nova & the other premium retailers would do them. I would love a blufans Bridge On The River Kwai or Spartacus. How do you all think they would sell if done by a blufans?
Worthy of a steelbook version, I only just watched the steel copy of Ben Hur, fantastic picture and well worth the cost.
Look forward to seeing this.
Just ordered it. Hope it's not pop art. If it is I'll cancel......... At least it's the remastered version and not an old master in a steelbook
Wow. Ordering it sight unseen. You never know if the art will match your expectations...
(A joke so obscurely weird, I almost don't get it!)
But yeah seriously, can't wait for this movie too, only other copy I have is HD-DVD!
It looks amazing @digitalbabe is that real
enough w/ my digibook sorry ...
Restored 196 min version?
This film deserves a fancy box set like what Lawrence of Arabia received last year, or the Ben-Hur Ultimate Collector's Edition in that nice black box. Universal should consider doing something special and unique with this release. This steelbook is a start but it's the same art as the regular Amaray edition. Ugh.
The big question is: Is this a new restoration for blu-ray, or the old blu-ray put into a Steelbook - if it is the latter, it is a definite pass - the transfer is utterly awful!!! Not as bad as the first Blu of Patton, but not good by any stretch of the imagination.
