Just got the Australian release a few weeks ago... Might get this too, but i might just wait for the Synapse Films eventual steelbook release :scat:

i'm very tempted to place an order, too.
i really love this film (and all the argento classics), but this is most definitely the old transfer with overboosted contrast and digital edge enhancement.

synapse US are already working on getting the negative out of the vault and scanned in 4k.
and '84 entertainment from germany are also working on a newly mastered edition (based on the old transfer though, but the the teaser video on youtube looks promising)...

so, i'm not sure if i should spend so much money just on a nice korean slipcover packaging.

That slip does look awesome!:) I didn't know there was going to be a remastered version coming out, I might wait for that.

here is the video from 84 entertainment with a comparison between the 2005 DVD, the 2009 blu-ray version (too much contrast put on the master tape which was done in 2007) and the "new" version based on the same master of 2007.

i guess the korean disc will look the same as the 2009 italian (and UK,,..) disc.

and if synapse really succeed in getting the negative material scanned again, i will get well excited (actually i am already only by the announcements they made) ;)

and a comment by SYNAPSE on facebook regarding upcoming ARGENTO titles:
"We're trying to fix up the master for TENEBRAE right now, and we have a neat surprise for PHENOMENA to be included. For SUSPIRIA, still working on getting the negative scanned... whew, what a nightmare it has been with that title, but we just want to do it right!"

Thanks for the pics, the slip looks good but I wish it was a little more vibrant. The colours are a little bit duller than they look in the mock up shots.

Any word on the AV quality?

Every DVD and Blu-ray edition so far has managed to screw something up

I'm having to make do with a home brew DVD version (Anchor Bay video + Laserdisc audio)
