The 3D is a Cinema release planned for the summer in 2016 not a Blu-ray release but a Blu-ray will happen later at some stage
The 3D release It's a cinema release for the 25th anniversary of Terminator 2
I doubt the Film Arena release will be this 3D release as a Blu-ray release is not scheduled yet and if it was your looking at long delay more likely late 2016

I don't know why James Cameron even bothering to do a 3D cinema release it's not a 3D film and should not be converted into 3D in my opinion
It was made in 2D and should remain that way but yes remastered to be better

DMG and StudioCanal should spend the money on doing a proper Blu-ray remaster of T2 in 2D with new extras for the 25th Anniversary
I rather see Blu-ray release of The Abyss than a unnecessary 3D release of T2

TBH I am happy that James Cameron decided to convert T2 into 3D. If he puts the same affort into it like Titanic 3D, then we can expect 4k remaster and a 3D like it was meant to be that way

Is a new remaster a given for the 3D release? For the 3D release of Predator they just used a DNR'd version of the current master, no?

I don't get 3D. It's a gimmick to spend even more money at the cinema. I've seen films in 3D but I don't feel they add anything to the experience, if anything, it takes away from the film.
A newly remastered Blu-ray Disc would be great, but if it includes a 3D disc, I end up spending extra on something I don't want and there's no way round it if it comes packaged with it.

It really depends on the movie. Some are shoot in native 3d (most animated movies). Others are converted in post production. But even thoese, which are converted, can be very convincing. Titanic, Jurassic Park and Godzilla i.e. really benefit from 3d as you now you can feel of the scales. For good 3d, I'm willing to pay the extra money.

@D4vem88 which ones did you see at the cinema?

For Jurrasic park 3d they also used a new master, and it definitely benefits from the extra depth.

I was really impressed with the 3D conversion of Jurassic Park, it's a shame about the DNR because the colour adjustments were really nice IMO

I totally agree. Like Star Wars Force Awakens, I didn't feel 3D addding much to the experience, it rarely does. I'd love to see more 2D, but those are usually in much smaller halls with smaller screen. Most of the screenings in big halls are in 3D. There's been some movies like Avatar and Tron Legacy which were nice in 3D plus some others, but usually I don't see much special about 3D. Sometimes I feel a bit dizzy after a 3D movie (n)
