I have a question for people who may have the Geneon Japanese import of TCM that came out a few years ago and now have the 40th anniversary 4K version. Could you give me a comparison between the two? To me the Japanese import looked perfect. Looked how TCM should look - gritty, and cleaned up just enough. I'm just wondering if the 4K version is super crystal clear. Any opinions are welcomed!

Well the 40th Anniversay edition recieved a brand new 4k scan especially for it's release this year so picture quality will be much better than any previous release

It also features a brand new 7.1 mix as well

I should have been more specific. What I meant to say was that the Japanese BD was just the right amount of 'cleaned up' while still managing to retain that gritty, grimy look that TCM has, and should always have. Does the 4k get rid of all specks and grain? Does it look like a modern movie, or does it still retain some of that grime, lol. Any sites that would have comparison shots to the 40th ann. and previous BD releases?
