no I have not read it. but as we post I'm ordering it from Finnish web auction, along with the spy who came in from the cold. meaning to read these for a long time. soon will, as they arrive.

but still feel you've been a bit harsh. this film is excellent, and more so to compared other modern day crap like angry birds, mocking birds, london has fallen, ninja turtles ... etc that can be found on box office lists.

Yes, perhaps a little harsh. I do recommend reading the book, in fact the whole Karla trilogy. and then watching the BBC production of Tinker Tailor and Smiley's People. Only on DVD at present, but nonetheless excellent.

thanks for admitting. :whistle::naughty::thumbs:

I'm sure I could find out in interwebs but now that we're speaking. what books make the Karla trilogy ? hope they all are translated ...

I have just been trying to find out if they are in Finnish; couldn't find anything related to it.

The trilogy is: Tinker Tailor, The Honourable Schoolboy, and Smiley's People.

I heartily recommend watching the BBC TV series of the first and third. They can be had from Amazon UK for just £6 in a 4 disc box set - saldy they are only in English with English subs - but perhaps that is good for you?

If you read and watch, you will understand where I'm coming from. There is much more depth, intricacy, and the acting is way better- and no tinkering with the characters either.

they are in deed traslated, as most of Le Carres work. will buy the trilogy and seek out the BBC dvds.

eng subs are ok in films, but prefer translations when it comes to books. and even more so when they are as complex as these.

thank you !

I do understand about wanting too read in your native language. I know, I'm struggling elsewhere to find enough vocabulary in Spanish to express myself fully in print :(

Anyhow, you're very welcome.:):happy::thumbs:

I'm not really the bogeyman I'm often painted as :naughty::whistle:

p.s. Hope you enjoy :thumbs::thumbs:

@nefilim you can find the BBC dvd set in stock from Discshop Sweden with finnish subtitles. I have only seen the movie, which I like, but after all this talk I think I need to see this much beloved serie :emb:
