Hey! We hope this email finds you well, and that you and your loved ones are all safe and healthy. These are strange times we're experiencing, but we are experiencing them together and our hope is that these new releases will help bring back a little bit of normalcy to the world. When we heard SXSW had been cancelled, it was crushing. A GODZILLA show is something we had wanted to do pretty much since the gallery opened, and though we remain fully confident in the decision to cancel, it's still a bummer not to spend an evening with y'all celebrating the King of the Monsters. However, on the bright side this now allows us an opportunity to share all this incredible artwork to a wider audience as we unleash this monstrous collection online. Over the next couple of weeks, all posters from the gallery show will be made available online and we are excited to kick it off with the first collection of posters this Thursday! First up we have a new poster for GODZILLA by Oliver Barrett! The release of GODZILLA in 1954 changed everything. It breathed atomic life into an iconic character that inspired monster kids all over the world, and whose legacy spans over 60 years, 30+ films, and across toys, comic books, and video games. With Godzilla in all his destructive glory, Oliver's poster is about as perfect a hat tip as you could hope for for the iconic first film.

This week we also have two posters from Tom Whalen for Shōwa era films GODZILLA VS MEGALON and TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA. When we first started putting together the artist roster for this collection, Tom was one of the first artists we asked as a lifelong kaiju kid. In GODZILLA VS MEGALON, Godzilla teams up with fan favorite Jet Jaguar to battle against Megalon and awesome cyborg kaiju Gigan, while TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA pits Godzilla against MechaGodzilla 2 and Titanosaurus. Tom always has a strong eye for design and composition, and these posters are brilliant examples of that. All four posters also feature beautiful metallic inks. We hope you like these posters as much as we do.

Happy Monday, everyone. We hope you're doing well and that you're staying safe and healthy. Tomorrow we're excited to continue our GODZILLA collection with new posters from Attack Peter, Robert Sammelin, and Eric Powell, as well as new t-shirts by Becky Cloonan and Attack Peter! We first came across Peter Santa-Maria (Attack Peter) about one year ago and were blown away by his work. He is a printmaker who focuses on hand-carved linocut prints on Lokta paper (handmade paper imported from Nepal) that he prints himself - and they're awesome. Godzilla seemed like a no brainer for our first projects with Peter, and we're super happy with the result. In total we worked on three "Godzilla vs" posters for this collection, with the first release being for the Shōwa era's GODZILLA VS THE THING, also known as MOTHRA VS GODZILLA.

Next up we have Robert Sammelin's posters for the excellent SHIN GODZILLA. Released in 2016 and the first film in the Reiwa era, this modern Godzilla film is an amazing return to form. Robert absolutely crushed the illustration on this poster, rendering everything traditionally in ink on paper. The Japanese language variant poster features glow in the dark inks on those awesome atomic rays that come out from between G's dorsal fins. Just unreal.

Eric Powell has stepped in to deliver a haunting poster for the original GODZILLA film. Presented mostly in silhouette, Eric's artwork is a beautiful and classic celebration of the original King of the Monsters and his massive scale, as well as devastating destruction that is often left in his wake.

First up is a completely gorgeous poster for GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA by Matt Taylor. Matt's technicolor sensibilities are on full display here for the 1974 film (and fourteenth in Godzilla's Shōwa era) that sees Godzilla and the awesome King Caesar battle the titanic Mechagodzilla, a robot built by the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens (aka Simians) to destroy Godzilla. As usual, Matt's color palette, composition, and illustration come together to form a stunning poster fit for the king of the monsters.

In addition to the excellent GODZILLA design used on our gallery postcards and letterpress prints, Phantom City Creative have conjured up an awesome poster for GHIDORAH, THE THREE-HEADED MONSTER. Directed by Ishiro Honda, this film introduces the world to King Ghidorah, a devastating three-headed, fire breathing monster from space - and one of Godzilla's most iconic foes. We love this poster and PCC's brilliant idea to portray the team up between Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra against the might of King Ghidorah.

We're so excited to have a new poster by Jason Edmiston inspired by Godzilla's appearance from Heisei era's GODZILLA VS DESTOROYAH. Jason's artwork, originally an acrylic painting, details a beautifully rendered portrait of Godzilla. In the film, Godzilla’s heart (which acts as a nuclear reactor) is nearing a nuclear meltdown, making the monster quite possibly the most powerful he’s ever been. Jason's detailing of the radioactivity emanating within Godzilla is on point, and we're so happy with how this one turned out.

Last but not least, we have a second poster by Attack Peter for EBIRAH, HORROR OF THE DEEP! Also known as GODZILLA VS THE SEA MONSTER, this film sees Godzilla ally with Mothra to take on Ebirah, a giant crustacean kaiju. Peter yet again delivers an awesome illustration of the ensuing battle between the three monsters. This poster has been beautifully printed by Peter and was produced as a linocut print on Lokta paper - a handmade paper imported from Nepal. The second of three posters in this GODZILLA collection.
