I hope that turns out to be correct! I'd love a US Steel for this. AND I hope it's the original theatrical version and not the Anniversary Edition.... although if they included both versions that would be even better!

Don't see any mention of a steelbook for the US in endgadget's article. Unless I'm reading it wrong they say the images for box art they used are from Amazon UK so this is still very much up in the air.
The trailer shows guns and not walkie talkies so that should answer your question.
The article only posts the ET steelbook pic from the UK , and talks about it as such. No definite steelbook in the states for this yet. However, I'll see what I can find out.

That's all I know on this one, usually when I know and cant say you dont see any post at all since I can't say 
. And I gotta sit here twiddling my thumbs waiting for retailers/studios to announce ... or sometimes not even announce! Which makes me angry since its not like they are advertising their steels, so I would rather be allowed to say stuff like "Hey guys ________ is releasing next week at Best Buy" as you would think it would help everyone if someone gets the word out. But alas, gotta play by the rules.

True.... but at the end of the trailer it says, "Bring home the Anniversary Edition on Blu Ray Hi-Def and DVD"
Although not a new release on Blu-ray, this ET steelbook edition release will follow the Safe House release very nicely 
We shall see. I'm thinking the speculation of US steels really coming up will be seen in announcements in a few months. I mean, it would be nice if this is the case but I would say in late July/early August the US announcements will be expected.
