I am a little confused. Is this a special edition with new footage, extras or something. There has been a blu ray of season 8 available for ages!

Looks like it's just a re-release with 'The Final Season' removed. I'd guess it's to stop confusion with the new season, although is the new season being referred to as season nine or just 24: Live Another Day?
