I added the thread for the original Warner wave to the OP. I don't see 'The Departed' in there, maybe they added this as new Exclusive for this time around? Same cover as Canada Steel.

The world is being flooded by them. Low quality. With poor quality control.

It takes more time and effort to determine which ones are actually worth owning than it's ever done. A tough hobby these days. Unless you are like pokemon and want to own them all regardless of quality, then it's orgasmic.

There are more collectors, and casuals too. More hoarding/scalping, and more damaged steelbooks being sold (often as mint). Does mint even mean mint anymore? Not to some traders. 'Mint' is just a buzzword like 'sale' and 'bargain' now. Steelbooks are like cars, a lot of lemons out there. A tiring hobby.

What can I do? I love movies, I love high quality cases with artwork from the movies I love. I am an addict.

I cant wait for another release of the same Departed steelbook after this one sells out. Wont it be amazing if Warner released the Departed steel along with the other 20 steels every X-Mas for $10 with the same art and then we can all be a big giant Warner family with the same steelbooks and share the same collection with everyone else over a cup of hot chocolate!

I'll definitely be picking up a copy of The Departed. Hopefully they'll have a couple more new to BB titles in the wave.

I didn't pick any up because all of them were matted rather then glossy. Glossy makes a huge difference when it comes to the artwork. It makes the picture have more depth to it. A buddy of mine picked a lot of them up and when I went over and saw them my fears of how they would look being matted were rectified. Though if you are just getting into steelbook collecting it's still a great way to get those steels that you missed out on.

On the Blu-Ray forums, it was posted by a Best Buy employee that these are going to be out for sale beginning this Sunday, 11/18, even though the $9.99 sale does not start until 11/25.

I am just curious if anyone on these forums who works for Best Buy could possibly provide a complete list of Steels that are going to be included in this wave so we know what to expect before we go shopping. If such information can't be provided before these are out for sale, I do understand as I also work a job in retail and I understand that such information really isn't supposed to be leaked to the public ahead of time.

However, my nearest Best Buy is 40 miles away, and with my work schedule the rest of this week and next week, it looks like the earliest I can go shopping for these Steels would be the day after Black Friday. Since I work 4am-4pm on Black Friday, I more than likely will not want to make the drive down to Best Buy after work.

On the last batch there were a lot of issues with quality control. There were a lot of paint chips and other issues. The steelbooks looked the same apart from the lack of inside artwork.
