Hi All,

It's that time of year where we start looking back at movie Steelbook releases over the last year, and nominate our 'overall favorites' for a final poll in which you can vote in, in January 2013. This thread is only used to post your absolute favorites of 2012-voting is done in a separate thread later on. This is the Steelbook that you think has the best combo of art, features, etc.

Mods, please leave this thread in the main Steelbook area for now.

After nominations are closed in this thread on December 31,2012, a new thread with 25 choices (max a poll will support), (I will compile), will be posted at the beginning of January for voting through the end of January 2013. You can nominate any Steelbook released in 2012.

Last year's winner, as voted by the HDN community was 'Thor'. 2011 Thread is here.

A running list of Steelbook releases for 2012 is here.

Have fun!
DB

u guys should have categories - there are probably so many good releases worldwide that one award isnt really enough. More awards so more releases receive credit, like the Oscars or some **** :D

My choice / TOP

3/ The Lion King Taiwan / Hong Kong or else ;) (out of contest)
4/ Terminator Renaissance / Die Erlösung FNAC Art
5/ The Thing 2011 Version from France
6/ Attack the Block Germany Exclusive (aaahhhhhhhh what if it was glowing in the dark ?)

If I had the HMV Drive I could add it too but still seeking for it !

(all play.com versions)

The other artworks i love which i purchased was:

Green Lantern Best Buy Exclusive (G2 version)
Real Steel Media Markt Exclusive (Holland)

Two words: THE RAID (Pure Awesomeness & a Kick-Ass Flick to boot) & then followed by Terminator (Play.com, how can U fault this masterpiece, it's 1 steelbook that has it all) & most likely Battle Royale (for pure entertainment at its best and hopefully 1 suhaweet Steelbook), Happy N-Steelbook-Y already lol

Play.com we salute U

In a year crammed with catalogue titles, most of my nominations are from those. although there were a few new releases of note..

Catalogue titles...

Wolverine (play.com)- film 5/10 but the steelbook artwork is very nice
The Hurt Locker (UK general release??) simple artwork, but effective
Iron Man (play.com) A close thing betweek IM 1 and 2, Im tempted to nominate both
War of the worlds (play.com) Again not my favourite film but a very nice steelbook
The Terminator (play.com) of all the Terminator steels released, by far the best

New releases...

Underworld Awakenings (best buy) great finishes on the front artwork, shiny eyes :)
The Raid (play.com) an unexpected hit, fantastic debossing front and rear
Tintin - the secret of the unicorn (My copy is the Dutch one) again simple artwork but looks very nice
