Anyone noticed this at a lower price anywhere else? Wondering if this is actually £14.99 or £17.99 everywhere else and Zavvi are just tagging this at £19.99 like they have been with many non-exclusive releases...not sure whether to use my 10% voucher now just in case...

OMG OMG OMG!!! How I have wanted Ghibli steels to be announced for the UK!!! While I dunno about the white-ness template, since I'm sure each fine has tons of worth front cover art, I'll take em anyway. And all of them 5 days before my birthday, since is the cheer up I needed recently. X3

Thank goodness they chose my alltime fav movie too. X3

Im slightly upset that these have their own threads  Thousands of better movies worthy of steels

i think that all depends on perspective and taste in movies, personally although not a massive fan of this genre of film in general i love i couple of these releases, especially this one as it reminds me of a good time in my life.
why would these not have seperate threads, they are seperate films?
i think its great that a different type of film to the normal mainstream blockbuster and easy sell 'classic' are being released on steelbook.

I think this is good news too. I won't be buying these, but this year has truly seen Steelbook releases for every type of film fan which is great. Of course it is at odds with those with the 'catch em all' mentality, but for those who can control the addition, it is fantastic :)

I'm gonna assume these will be silver - The Place Beyond The Pines was a similar shade and turned out to be silver. The only argument for them being white is these pieces of artwork on the covers seem to be from the recent Studio Ghibli anniversary reissues (Google the soundtrack vinyl LP artwork) which were kinda cream/white I think. Be really nice if they do stick with white - some of my favourite steelbooks are (Silent Running, Jaws, Two-Lane Blacktop). Saying that, the Akira steelbook looks awesome on silver (definitely in my top 5 steelbooks).

I'll also second guess that these might be listed at £17.99 or maybe even as little as £14.99 from other retailers (Amazon, Sainsbury's) soon seeing as the amarays for them are quite a lot cheaper and many of the fans already have the amarays.

Your insane. These films deserve their own thread as each is different. I can't wait for these and will get them all.

Wish the artwork would have been better but love all of the Ghibli titles.

Have you even seen these films? I'm guessing not.

Quality wise, these films are in the same bracket as any Disney or Pixar you want to talk about. The only reason they don't have steelbooks already I presume is because of a lack of knowledge/popularity of them in the west.

From experience, these films are really big in the west. Well atleast in the UK, I don't know about America.

The stories are often better than both Pixar and Disney. I would rate Ghibli above Pixar, and Pixar above Disney, but that's just my own taste. But the fact that at least somebody thinks that counts for something right?

I cannot wait to get Mononoke on BR. In the meantime, I'm definitely going to get Nausicaa. I will then be tempted to get either Howl's Moving Castle or My Neighbour Totoro, but can wait 'til the new year for either of those. Nausicaa is a must-buy though :D

Personally, I was hoping steelbooks would eventually be released in the UK with similar to the Japanese editions art-work. Of course, these look beautiful with what is show, but if they decided to update it to something else -- something in like with the Japanese sets, then I wouldn't complain. :)

The artwork reminds me of their recent Ghibli vinyl soundtrack compilation seen here: http://www.factmag.com/2013/07/22/studio-ghibli-soundtracks-compiled-on-limited-edition-double-lp/

I quite like the simplicity...I did just realise the circular central image with the traditional serif text looks oddly similar to the BFI's Seven Samurai steelbook coming out next month (which I also have on pre-order). Either way, no complaints from me. Simple, straightforward, not too busy. What I want from a steelbook.
