The Spanish version will have Edicione Limitada on the J-card on the front, and Spanish writing on the back of the card (presumably), so if you're keeping it sealed you may not want that one.

Well that doesn't make sense does it ? :hilarious:

Universal is releasing the exact same steelbook in many different territories.
There is no writing on the back (deliberately so they can do them all in one pressing and ship them out) and the discs are generic as in all Universal blu-rays so basically, the version being sold in Spain for around £ 10 is identical in every single way to that sold in Australia or any other country which is releasing it.

Same with Back To The Future , Jurassic Park and Apollo XIII which I ordered for £ 8 each when on offer from Amazon Spain - no writing on back , identical in every way to other country releases including disc etc but hey, if you prefer to be able to say you got the exact same identical steelbook from an english speaking country for double the price you needed to pay - then be my guest

you forgetting the info card? ;)

I know a lot of steelbook collectors are psychotically severely disturbed but the writing on the throwaway info card ?:hilarious:
Seriously, if that's an issue, we need to get a forum psychiatrist appointed here. :scat:
People who buy things to keep them sealed and never opened can get help now in the UK at least - it's a registered mental illness - hoarding compulsion.

Whatever you collect, I'm pretty sure keeping stuff sealed is not something out of the ordinary.

Oh you're absolutely right , mental illness is far more common than people realise.

You buy a steelbook because :-

a) you like the movie or

b) you like the design of the steelbook itself

and then you never get to see either because you keep the item in question wrapped inside a plastic seal for all eternity so all you can see is the paper throw-away info card and the plastic wrap.
What do you do then ? Spend hours staring at it on a bookshelf or display stand somewhere whilst rocking yourself backwards and forwards until The Sun goes down and you have to move to switch on the light so you can continue to stare at it or invite your friends ( if you have any) around for a steelbook display celebration party ?
.
Yup that makes perfect sense to me and not at all unusual - if you're psychotically disturbed that is. :D

I think you have joined the wrong forum buddy.

To keep something sealed is not something a psychiatrist will see you for.

And for a collector to throw away the info card that goes with a steelbook, is like buying a house and throwing away the roof.

I'm not sure why you're getting all lairy about this, seems you need to look closer to home about the mental problems given that you've mentioned it already about 10 times on this thread.

I won't even be keeping this steelbook sealed for your information, I was simply stating why somebody would. but for future reference given that you're new, it's probably best to cool yourself down and not be calling people mental for keeping steelbooks sealed, because thats about 90% of the forum who have done this at some point.

I think you need to realise that as collectors everybody has there own own preference. Whether somebody likes to keep there steelbooks sealed or not is up to them. There is no right or wrong way to collect, each to there own. You pay your money and you can do whatever you want with them. You need to be more careful with your comments, there is no need to mention mental illness. That is not needed here. I can see that you are just trying to be funny but there's better ways to do it than that.

Hey guys, is it normal for JB Hifi to ship steelbooks without its shrink wrap? This is my first time ordering from JB Hifi, and this came without shrink wrap and a lot of scratches. This is really bugging me, because the other steelbooks in my order came shrink wrapped.

I have contacted JB Hifi about this, and they told me that it came without shrink wrap from their supplier. Is it actually legal in Australia to sell opened movies as new? My other steelbooks from this series came with shrink wrap, so I am pretty sure they are lying to me.

I'm sure it's legal to sell opened copies but its not good practice. I believe your steelbooks should have arrived sealed. I would try and get a refund of them unless they can guarantee that you will receive sealed copies.
