Mondo 80 YEARS OF BATMAN Show

Tomorrow we will kick-off the first collection (of three) of remaining prints from our recent 80 YEARS OF BATMAN gallery show. We wanted to send out a massive Bat-thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the old Bats' 80th with us. We wanted this show to be a giant love letter to the incredibly vast and storied history of the Dark Knight, as well as all of the truly incredible artists and creators that have added to the unbelievable legacy. Our aim was to capture the original cover art as accurately as possible to its first printing, except recreated as a beautiful, large format screenprinted poster. For anyone feeling like any standout artist or books were missing...well, we'll be celebrating the Bat plenty more this year.


But until then, tomorrow we will have the first batch of posters collecting several stunning covers from the Golden and Silver Age Bat books. Featuring artwork by Bob Kane, Fred Ray, Jerry Robinson, Sheldon Moldoff, Carmine Infantino, and Murphy Anderson, these posters all highlight the lighter, more pulpy beginnings of the Dark Knight Detective.


Joining these posters will be a brand new enamel pin and t-shirt using the Mondo Comics Code Authority created for these faithful poster reproductions. This collection will be available on Tuesday (5/28) at a random time via mondotees.com!

Tomorrow we have part two of remaining posters from our 80 YEARS OF BATMAN gallery show. This week we're shining the Bat signal on several truly quintessential pieces of BATMAN covers from the '70s and '80s including revelatory artwork by titans of the industry including Neal Adams, Jim Aparo, Frank Miller, Todd McFarlane, and Dave McKean. Moving away from the lighter, more kid-friendly adventure comics of the '50s and '60s, BATMAN was returned to the more hardened "Dark Knight" vigilante we mostly associate his character with. This is largely due to the contributions from many of the artists mentioned above as well as writers Dennis O'Neil, Jim Starlin, Grant Morrison, and David Vern Reed.

These are some of the best covers in all of BATMAN history and we're proud to celebrate the art as big as possible as beautifully printed silkscreen posters.
