The American variant claims it has 'a numbered certificate of authenticity.'
So, are these editions limited to a specific number?

Don't care, I never buy anything at inflated after market prices.
I simply meant this is proberly going up in price instead of dropping. I think the price is set fairly decent for a 7 movie 4k steelbook set that is limited to 4000. But thats comming from a Freddy krueger fan who's been waiting for a 4k upgrade

Assuming the images on the German thread is what we end up with, I'd hardly say it's 'newly commissioned art' as advertised.

Sure, everything has been darkened, with Freddy's Dead the most obvious (red swapped with black), but otherwise it's poster art.

Personally I'd rather this, than whatever art WB would have come up with. I'd still have left the posters alone though. Having said that, I don't mind them not having text on the front.

This. Been wanting original poster art on steelbooks for ages now, but...

1) No titles; the fonts they used were quite specific and integral to those posters, so I do miss them
2) Cropping; I understand BD format is different to the 27x40 ratio, but still, so much at the top and/or bottom is gone now
3) Photochopped colors; damn, everything's so black now, why?!

The only way to get these images unspoiled on home media is the old Platinum Series DVD box set (the one I got to keep BD discs in).

Well, we haven't seen the rear artwork yet...

I wonder if we will get a "premium finish" also??? I get worried when it does not tell you in the description! Hope they have not got the finish of the first release. TBH, for this collection, I wish they had used a different steelbook for the first film. It would have been good to have one unique to this box set.
